I hope your package gets to you soon Monnie!!!

Me too - I'm getting antsy...

On another note - what is the plan for Ostara?

I'm down for one like that or whatever theme works.

Epic work of beauty. What a wonderful job you did!
23  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Healthy Eating/Vegetarian/Vegan Swap? on: January 27, 2014 05:17:19 PM

Any takers on exchanging stuff to encourage your way of eating? Maybe recipe holders, decorated lunch containers, etc?

I'm trying to get myself back on a veggie loving path and would love to help others reach their goals too whether meat-eating or not.

Giving to those who can use it is wonderful!

I did not follow the suggested theme unless you count use of a white tee shirt in another craft counts!

I made a few items for a personal swap to be sent in March....Don't read, my partner!

I made a patchwork batik skirt attached to a reconned tee for stretchiness and comfort. I also made 2 matching 9 patch blocks in batik green and pink as she is a quilter. I also sewed a sunglass case with a fat quarter I have been holding onto FOREVER for my man. It's flames and quilted and lined in black for his motorcycle saddlebag so his goggles don't get scratched.

Little bits but it adds up, right?

Love it! Also love the rainbow colored thing on the L side of the pic....paper is it?

DragonChilde did well by me! We agreed to do an extra for each other,  I sent her something in return for an extra shrine for my boss who loves Virgin Mary.

Mine is the Triple Goddess.....squee!

My groovy shrine is made from I think a tea box. She made a triple panel on the inside. The right side has the crone. And a lady who looks a lot like Morigan Le Fay from Mists of Avalon....

Left and right sides:

The back which I like just as much as the front:

The top with moon and symbols of the quarters, I know it's hard to see in these pics, there is a fern and flowers:

The sides also have waxing and waning moons.

The one for the boss with bright polka dots on the outside to match her personality.

The two with electric tealights in them:

I love it! Thanks so much, hope you like your stuff too!

I am a jill of all trades-craft wise so this will be a great challenge for me to use up my bits and bobs. I want to try it all and I ended up with a lot of leftovers. I am excited to join this to work down my leftovers into usable objects. I have tons of sale priced or gift intended yarns and lots of little pieces of fabrics that don't quite go with other things.

I may still add to ye olde stash a bit here and there, but I'd like to downsize it overall to allow less chaos and more freedom. I may not be keeping all of it, but at least I'll keep my creative groove on and benefit myself and/or others.

I'm a noob, never considered all the ways to quilt. Off to research the techniques you mentioned. Thanks and nice work!
