141  Glenda Good Witch Birthday Card in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by hawkeyes_girl on: August 15, 2006 04:01:18 PM
My friend is an OZ collector, so I thought of this, the Glenda birthday card! She was found online and colored with colored pencil. She has glitter embossing on her dress, crown and wand. I also made the envelope out of wallpaper.

I'm really proud of this, probably more than is warrented. But that's ok.

You like?

143  Pineapple Motif Swimsuit Ideas Needed! (Warning: Maxim photos ahead) in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by hawkeyes_girl on: July 02, 2006 08:50:52 PM
Hey all!

I'm an intermediate crocheter and I have fallen in lust with this swimsuit. I REALLY want to make it myself to save money (and impress my bf with sexy crochet for once) but I'm unsure as to how to go about it.

Anybody have a similar pattern available? I have figured how to do the top and bottom solid parts (looks like sc), but do I do the whole thing as 1 piece or do I do the top and bottom separately and make a motif to join them?

I've got the whole pineapple thing down, at least!

Any help would be much appreciated!

144  Marcel, the Blue Monkey (Img heavy) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by hawkeyes_girl on: May 20, 2006 02:16:09 PM
Hi all! First post in toys. I loved all the sock monkeys I've been seeing (although the ones done with the traditional socks creep me out for some reason. Sorry!)

My one friend's little boy is turning one tomorrow, so I decided he needed a monkey, in colors his masculine daddy could handle. So Marcel was born.

Marcel is such a little ham:

Hope you all like him too! It'll be hard to give him up to the little guy!  Cheesy

145  Bushleague photographer tries her hand (WARNING: Slight NUDITY) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by hawkeyes_girl on: May 07, 2006 06:27:26 PM
Hey all!

I'm a wannabe photographer (which means I have NO formal training, it's just a hobby) who uses digital and LOVES her photo editing software.

So a friend is making up a photo album for her bf for his birthday and wanted me to shoot her. I love the look of intense contrast in b&w photos, but I'm not sure if these look better this way or with a lighter look. She's going for a could-be-a-model-in-a-magazine look, so naturalism is not an issue.

(And yes, I checked with her to make sure it's ok for you guys to see these. She's a Craftster fan too!)

Opinions, comments and gentle criticism welcome!

146  Amazing Lilacs Camera Pouch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by hawkeyes_girl on: April 28, 2006 06:58:12 PM
Amazing because I did 'er freehand (aka pattern on the fly). Lilacs because I'm using up scraps.
I had this prequilted lining and a purdy cotton lilac print, ribbon ties.
A smidge extra room for batteries, etc.
Opinions?

147  Crochet Wire Goodness (very IMG heavy!) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by hawkeyes_girl on: April 20, 2006 02:50:52 PM
So excited! I have been tinkering around with beads since I read about crocheting wire here in Jan. Here's what I've come up with so far (my 1st post!)  Grin
I'd really like to start selling my stuff on ebay/craft fairs/shops. Are they good enough? Any ideas for pricing? (I was thinking sets for $14, necklace for $10, earrings for $4) Thanks!

148  Unsexed baby tees in Stenciling: Completed Projects by hawkeyes_girl on: April 20, 2006 02:32:18 PM
Hi! First-time poster here!

After learning about stenciling on this forum, I decided to get crafty for a friend's impending baby (the sex of which is to remain a mystery) so I got a coupla baby shirts and went at it. Here they are:

and this one is kinda icky. Suggestions for improvement?

149  My first blanket (a leetle one!) in Crochet: Completed Projects by hawkeyes_girl on: April 20, 2006 02:27:28 PM
I just found out my friend is preggo, so of course I had to make something for the incoming baby. I didn't want to do the traditional pink/blue so I made it in teal, cream and a verigated yarn, all Red Hart. I also stenciled a few baby shirts to go with.

Here she is!

Hope you can see this, as this is my first time posting, I'm a photo-virgin!  Smiley
