2  Re: large tee reconstruction? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by dropdeadthreads on: July 17, 2006 09:24:38 AM
Your question isn't completely clear but I hope this answers it.. If the logo is too close to the top of the t shirt (above the sleeves) I always add an extra bit of material taken from the bottom of the t shirt like this:

The red lines are where I've cut the t shirt.. Once you've resized the sides, you can use the material from the bottom to make the extra bit at the top... here's a pic of one I did that way

I just used a safety pin to runch the middle of the extra piece of material... excuse the little and large pictures  Grin Grin

Hope this makes sense

3  Stretchy Edges... HELP!! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by dropdeadthreads on: July 17, 2006 07:35:51 AM
I make a lot of stuff from T shirts but find that when I'm hemming a neckline.. it always seems to curl over.. the wrong way.. away from the body if that makes sense.. the hem doesn't lay flat against the body!

Now.. i was wondering if this is because the T shirt is stretchy but the cotton isn't?? How can I make my edges look like this?? Nice and neat??

The murderdolls one is a dress btw and i made it all from the same t shirt, i just used the sleeves aswell to make the boob parts.  I might even have a dabble at sleeves

Care to add a picture explaining sleeve utilization for boob coverage?  I'm a visual learner.

Here's a really bad description of how i did it !

Pic 1 just shows you cutting the sleeves off the t shirt, pic 2 is where i cut 2 triangle shape pieces of material from each of the sleeves, i then hemmed them to make them look tidy and pic 3 is them when they are attached to the main ody of the dress... I hope this helps.... i really just did it with trial and error!  Grin
