I crocheted this afghan for my dad's birthday which is coming up later this week. It's my first attempt at one, and I must say that I'm pleased with the results. I always learn something with each crochet project I do. I used Lion Brand Jiffy yarn in three different colors, burgandy, a shade of blue, and camel. It's basically just double and triple crochet with a single crocheted border in two colors. The pattern I started using suggested tassels, but my dad just isn't a tassel kind of guy.

Although I've had my sewing machine for over a year now, this is the first skirt that I've sewn. It's basically just an A-line skirt, but I used Simplicity pattern #5505. I think I'll probably make more of these. I'm pretty happy with the length and fit of this one.

Up close, it's easier to see what the pattern is on the fabric...little daisies in a field of green. I have a piece of trim that I got at a garage sale which would match the flowers. I haven't figured out what I want to do with it yet...maybe make a headband. We'll see.

If I frogged this bag once, I frogged it 20 times. *ribbit* At first, it was due to the misprint in the book. I had the first set of corrections of which this bag wasn't on. It wasn't until checking here--after starting over twice already--that I realized there had been an update. I finally got my count to turn out, only to have it not for the middle part of the bag, which is why instead of it being square, it bowls out. It wasn't until I got to the strap that I realized why. At that point, I wasn't about to start over--again. I actually like the unique look.

The shells turned out really well, although the pictures don't show them very distinctly.

I used Hilos La Espiga Nylon, color: Var. Feast. I also used a lot of frustration and patience, but overall, I'm happy with the outcome...

I made this little decorative basket using one of those green containers tomatoes sometime come in, some leftover Easter print fabric, and a little wire. It turned out really cute...at least to me. I'm thinking of making another without a holiday theme.

After five or so attempts at making this, I finally succeeded. It's rated as a "beginner" pattern, but I really had a lot of trouble working with Fun Fur yarn. Finally, out of determination to prove to myself I could do this, since it appears to be in the "by kids for kids" list of patterns on Lion Brand Yarn's web site, I decided to go with the next larger size hook, and it worked beautifully. I wanted to make these for Easter, and now I know I can. Woo hoo! There's a rabbit pattern as well that I'll make when I get some white Fun Fur this weekend. I did the crocheting on this last night, then this morning finished the sewing, stuffing, and adding body parts.

I think it turned out really cute. Even my significant other was impressed. *s*

(Yes, I made the doily underneath him, too. *beams with pride* Not bad considering I've only been crocheting for a couple of months.)

I just recently found this site, and decided to just jump right in. Looks like a fun place to be.

I made this hat a couple of weeks ago for my daughter. I stayed with the black & red theme since that's her favorite colors. I also made the red and black one for her best friend but have no pictures to show of it.

I've only been crocheting for a couple of months. Although this isn't my first project ever, it's my first attempt at a hat. Not too bad, if I do say so myself--even with the typo in the book. And to be honest, I'm not sure if I noticed that row 10 had been omitted or not. *eep*
