Re: How's Your etsy Shop Doing? in Selling Crafts on Etsy.com by missamorphosis

Imma-button-a-holic, too! I have three large jars full, working on my fourth, as well as some of my faves in a totally different box. Then today in the mail, I got more buttons from a Craftster swap, as well as some that I bought on Etsy. Gotta love the things! Here's a bracelet I made using some. I was wondering if it looked too "cheap" to post on Etsy. The bracelet itself is just generic and the buttons are some that I thought would make great charms. I'd wear it. Any comments?

Missamorphosis, those ornaments are very cute! How about 'season sparkles' or something like that as a name for your new product line?
Thanks! I like "season sparkles", but it's not just seasonal items that will go in this line of products. I'm trying to think of something that will go with the wire of it all, so maybe something like "EliteWire". Still thinkin' on it. I love your chocolate colored keychain lip balm holders! I've always like them, but no one I know really uses lip balm, but I always keep the idea in the back of my head in case I discover a friend that does! missamorphosis - Your ornaments are beautiful, how the heck did you get the angels into the ornament?
Verrrrry carefully! I received the oh so beatiful ring that I snapped up as soon as missamorphasis posted it. It so doesn't go with what I have on today, but I don't care! I think I shall wear it every day! (And how's that for quick shipping!?!?) YAY! I'm so glad you like it. I had a hard time deciding whether or not I wanted it for myself, but I don't wear rings all that much. Maybe I should start! As for the quick shipping--no sense in making a quick payer wait for her item! Hope you liked the couple of little "extras", too. In other news, I finally got my promos ready to send out to believer10, who sent hers (some really cute gift tags) to me earlier this week. I'll get them mailed to you on Monday. How cute are these! I made up some awhile back to give to friends and family (got no complaints!), and after receiving permission to create them for business purposes, I've decided to not only use them for promos, but sell them in my store, too. I probably won't post them until tomorrow since I already posted this ring today: Heart on my Finger. Whew. It feels so good to have a new sale thanks to craft_t_chic, to get some crafting in, to post something new, and to get some promos ready to send out! Happy Friday Everyone! P.S. I never knew one could be rejected for a craft show...wow.

Re: show me your business cards! in Selling Crafts on Etsy.com by missamorphosis

Here's mine: I created mine myself, and at first, I printed them from my computer, but I noticed that the black likes to rub off onto other cards it's against in my wallet, so I had mine printed at Office Max. They did a decent job and weren't expensive, which was what I needed at the time. I've made some minor changes that will appear on my next batch. I'm not sure if just black and white is a good thing or not, but it's how my logo is. My business goes beyond Etsy. I also do brochures, business cards, and 3-D renderings of houseplans for some of the customers of our home design business.

oOoooo I so claim your grab bag #2 (#10 on your list). I'm such a sucker for butterflies! This is my second claim. Here's my list: 1 - Set of 8 flower-themed scrapbook 12 X 12 sheets. All are the full sheets. Great for scrapbooking, cardmaking, or other paper crafts. 2 - Set of 8 autumn-themed scrapbook 12 X 12 sheets. These, too, are the full sheets, and are great for scrapbooking, cardmaking, etc. 3 - Mop heads, I suppose they are called...or bottoms. Not sure. There's a large one and a small one, generally used for mop dolls, which I don't make. They were in a tote of items I got at a garage sale. I hope someone else can use them better than I could. 4 - Sewing items, 4 packages. One of each: Wright's Wide Bias Tape, 3 yds, Stone Blue; Jumbo Size Rick Rack in Spring Green; Wright's Hem Facing, 100% Acetate Taffeta, Beige; Wright's Lace Seam Binding, 3 yds, Crystal Blue. They're all older packing but have never been opened. 5 - McCall's Fashion Accessories Pattern #M4609. Never used. 6 - Size 9 Aluminum Circular Knitting Needles, Learn to Knit booklet from 1968, and a Knitting Pocket Reference Guide. (I got it with a crochet magazine subscription--go figure.) I don't knit, and right now, I don't have time to learn, so maybe someone else can or does. 7 - Grab Bag of Goodies: Includes 4 plastic little girl barrettes, a plastic bracelet, a plastic headband, two plastic stretchy head bands (purple & yellow), a plastic heart to fill, and various earrings that could be used for reconstruction purposes for someone who is into that.

Here's my list. I changed it up a bit from the PM I sent to be a part of this swap. Hope that's okay! 1 - Set of 8 flower-themed scrapbook 12 X 12 sheets. Not sure. Yay! It's my turn to show and tell. I got my package from xladyluckx today, and it just made my day. My pics aren't as great as I'd like for them to have been because I had my flash set on a goofy setting that if you don't remain perfectly still, it'll blur the pics a bit. Anyway, without further ado: There's a great little typewriter key bracelet that I think is just awesome. She also sent a necklace with a reversible pendant. There's a pair of butterfly earrings, and a bag made from wonderful butterfly print fabric & lime green handles. There's also a butterfly magnet. (Yes, I'm crazy about butterflies!) She sent an older crochet book that has some patterns in it that I know I'll eventually make, as well as some buttons from her collection to add to mine and to possibly craft with. Then there's the collage in a box which I think is really cool. It's an idea I'd like to try sometime. The jewelry came in packages covered in polka dots and there was a note card with a vintage photo on it. I think she has better photos to show and probably her "items used" count. I'll count too when I get a chance. Right now, I'm just excited that I got mine today, and she should receive hers tomorrow. Thanks xladyluckX! You're a great partner.

Button revamp question in Discussion and Questions by missamorphosis

I'm not sure if this is under the correct topic, but I didn't want to put it in the "what the heck can I do with this?" section since I know what I want to do. I'm just not sure how to do it. I have these buttons I got at an estate sale: and I want to add little pictures to the insides of them. I'm wondering the best way to go about it. And once they're inside, what's a good way to seal them? There's probably about 1/16" of a space there, so there's a little bit of room to work with. Any suggestions?
