1  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / Suggestion: Label Bookmarked Threads on: February 10, 2012 07:49:20 AM
Here is an idea for what I think is a new feature.

I would like to know when I am viewing a page if I already have this thread bookmarked. (It would be especially awesome if it showed in the "Recent with Pictures" view)  Maybe "grey out" the tab that says "bookmark", or add a little "this thread is bookmarked" graphic somewhere?

I find that I am bookmarking the same thread several times, as I "find" it in different ways (recent, hot, linked from other threads, etc).  I also find that things I thought I bookmarked aren't, and I end up missing stuff in threads I am trying to follow.
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Tiny Teddy Bear on: October 18, 2011 12:12:35 PM
This is something I made a couple of years ago, but haven't ever shown to anyone outside of my family and a couple of coworkers.

He is completely hand sewn.  Yes, he is completely jointed, so he can move his arm, legs and head.  That is a standard spool of thread, and the squares underneath are 1 inch.

He can sit.

He can make speeches.

He likes to draw too!

Oops!

I wasn't sure whether to call this the "obligatory cat picture", or just "the explanation of that last picture"

He is made from upholstery fabric.  Each piece is cut out, sewn and turned right side out.  His eyes are seed beads.  His bow is silk ribbon.
3  COOKING / Dessert / Cat and Kittens Birthday Cake on: May 16, 2011 07:30:31 PM
I created a cake for my daughter's birthday on Saturday.  Friday night, she decided that she wanted kittens!  3 cake mixes and a lot of candy later, we had this!

This was (partially) in honor of our newest family member:

Hope you enjoy
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Easter / The Easter Kitten! on: April 24, 2011 07:09:14 AM
Its the Easter Kitten (or maybe it should be Kitten Abuse)

A few minutes with some fleece scraps and my sewing machine...

She is cute even without the ears!

There is a wedding shower at work next week.  I decided they needed a centerpiece.  Here is what I did:

6  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Space Girl!! on: November 01, 2008 09:37:47 AM
Here's my daughter's "Space Girl" costume from this year.  She's 5.

We didn't get pictures in the dark, but the costume has clear plastic things around the bottom of the skirt and on the shoulders to hold glow sticks.  She also got glow bracelets and a "space gun" with lights and noise.

The second one shows the helmet.  We also put glow sticks in the top as antenna.

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Flock...herd....gaggle...group of Monster Purses on: December 16, 2006 11:01:17 AM
Yesterday, I finally finished all of my monster purses!

There were actually 5 more of them, but a couple of friends liked them so much they wouldn't let me keep them around for the photo session.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Dress and Doggie Costume for 2 year old on: April 13, 2006 01:10:56 PM
OK.  I want to show off a little here.

Her "princess dress". (Simplicity 5695)  I made for a trip last summer to the Renaissance Festival.  She loves it.  She was asking to wear that dress almost every morning for about a month.  I gave in last weekend.  She wore it grocery shopping!  She got a couple of extra free samples at Sam's club.

Then, her "Doggie Costume" from Halloween 2005.  She was dressed up just like the dog across the street!  She picked out the color for the ear ribbons.   This one is Simplicity 4440.
