2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / earflap helmet hat (pattern from free online generator) on: October 17, 2006 07:29:02 AM
my hubby lost the last hat i made him (http://littlecindy.livejournal.com/24410.html), but he never liked how thick that one was, anyway (the fabric was doubled up where there was colorwork).  so i bought some merino style (just a bit thinner than worsted) and made him an earflap hat.  it will be perfect for his winter climbing adventures as it's thin enough to fit under a climbing helmet.  i got the pattern from and online generator.  for the most part, the pattern generated turned out great.  i'll probably make him another one & incorporate some colorwork into it.

yarn used:  knitpicks merino style in moss (http://www.knitpicks.com/yarns/itemid_5420104/yarn_display )
needle size:  size 5's (though i think i accidentally switched needles at some point, either starting with a 4 and ending with a 5 or starting with a 5 and ending with a 6).
pattern:  made using a pattern generator (http://www.thedietdiary.com/blog/lucia/513)
