1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Lack of Maid of Honor on: September 23, 2007 05:00:40 PM
My brother is going to be my "maid" of honor.
And I wouldn't have it any other way.

I say go for it.  Do whatever makes you happy.

That's so awesome!  Congratulations!

I'm in love with your plans.  That's what I wanted...a big party when we get back, minus the horrible reception food.  Nothing too fancy either.

I'll update as soon as I get the invites done.

so I realize I'm going to need a bit of advice here.

I'm getting married May 31, 2008 in Bermuda.  We plan to have a reception (a very informal one at that) when we return from our honeymoon.  I can't seem to figure out how to word the invitations to the reception so as not to confuse anyone.  The invites to the reception will be sent out before we even leave for Bermuda, so I guess it would have to say something (loosely) like :

"Michelle and Joe will be married in Bermuda

please join us to celebrate at a reception in their honor

June 21, 2008
place
time, etc. "

I don't want to put the actual wedding date on there because I know that will confuse some people.

Is there a better way to word this?  Everytime I try to fill out the forms for my invitations, it doesn't look right.

(as a side note, I will be listing my DIY crafts on the craftalong...there are quite a few.  the list is ever-growing.  Grin  )

8  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Fitted Knits-along ? on: July 10, 2007 06:50:30 PM
I'm almost done the last sleeve on my short sleeve cardigan and I need to get some buttons to sew on there, too.  And blocking...yes, I should do that too.   Grin

And since I'm impatient, (and because for some reason 95 degree weather makes me want to knit sweaters) I also started the bluebell boatneck.  I'm using Cascade 220.  I don't have any pics yet because there's not much to show, but the yarn is a dark heathered green.  Kind of like evergreen.  I think.

Once I get the sleeves separated, I'll be posting some pictures.

Hello everyone!  So far I love everyone's work from Fitted Knits!!  Seeing this thread is actually what made me go out and buy the book.

I started the Short-Sleeved Cardigan with Ribbing this weekend and it's coming along pretty quickly.  I will post some pics as soon as I get a chance!!!
