here is a progress shot of my lady eleanor!!!!

i'm on my second ball.  i only have six total, so i hope it will be enough.  if not, i'll be in a frenzy to find the same dye lot.

2  Re: Clapotis from Knitty in Knitalongs by Me-Shell on: October 24, 2006 04:18:35 PM
i finally got some outdoor pictures taken of the clapotis i made for my mom.  she's shy, so she made me pose for the pictures.

i used artyarns regal silk in color #123.  i posted some pics before, but they really sucked.   Grin

also, i know my mom signed up on here but she hasn't posted anything yet, so i'll do it for her.  here are some pics of a clapotis she made with mango moon recycled silk yarn.  it's really beautiful, but it's so heavy!  it also sheds on the person wearing it.  but pretty, nonetheless.

all of the pictures show the true colors of both shawls.
i hope you all like them!

3  Re: My Country Doesn't Have that Round 6 GALLERY!! in The Swap Gallery by Me-Shell on: October 04, 2006 05:51:15 AM
well, finally....i now have a chance to post the pics of what miss vicki sent me!

sorry for the delay...and also for the crappy pictures.  (note to self:  stop placing things on dark blue couch to take pictures.  it just doesn't work.)

ok, here is everything:

the beautiful yarn she sent me...i have to think of something to make with it.

vegemite and kangaroo jerky

candy!!!!

again, sorry for the crappy pictures.
i wanted to take some more in daylight, but sadly, most of the chocolate didn't make it through the night.  in fact, the cherry ripe was already half eaten when i realized i should probably take some pictures quickly.

so this is what i got:

4 skeins of yarn - a blue and purple thick and thin yarn.  and i love it.

vegemite - which i'm going to have to try on hot buttered toast like miss vicki suggested.  because i really didn't think it tasted all that bad!  i think i was the only one in my family who thought that, though.  i really enjoyed making my whole family taste it and seeing the look on their faces once it hit their taste buds.  hilarious.

kangaroo jerky - i love it, and so does the boy.  my dad liked it too.

australian daintree tea - delicious!  i had a cup with my mom on sunday as we knitted in her living room.  lovely.

some really funny australian postcards.  we love them!

a pencil with the australian flag on it, and a koala sticky toy.

and chocolate!!!! - smarties, cherry ripe (awesome!), chokito (love it!), a pack of furry friends, and curly wurlys.  all very good.  and i never tried any of those candies before.

she also wrote me a very nice letter.
i really loved everything!

thanks so much, miss vicki!!! Kiss

ok, i finally finished the clapotis for my mom!
i gave it to her a few weeks ago.
sorry for the crappy pics, i just realized that the reason my pictures always come out so dark is that i throw everything on my dark blue couch.  smart.

i used artyarns regal silk (4 skeins) in color 123 (i think that's right)
i need to get a picture of her wearing it, because the blue matches her eyes perfectly!

and maybe an outdoor pic would work a little better.
anyway, i just had to post since it seems like this took me forever.
really, i just kept getting distracted by other projects. Undecided

7  Tattooed T-Shirt! in Needlework: Completed Projects by Me-Shell on: July 17, 2006 05:31:47 AM
hey everyone!  this is my first post of a finished project.

i embroidered this t-shirt for my boyfriend as a birthday present.  he always says that getting someone's name tattooed on you automatically dooms the relationship.  so i tattooed him in my own way.  i thought he would think it's cheesy, but he loves it and he loves wearing it, too!

i used some dressmaker's transfer paper and drew up the design myself, based on the sacred heart tattoo.

i hope you like it!!!
