1  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: The Everything Harry Potter Swap (SIGN UPS CLOSED; MAIL BY 24th August) on: July 22, 2007 07:46:32 PM
I feel so lucky... my partner went and picked up our copies as soon as they went on sale. When he got home we sat side-by-side in our comfy couch rocking chairs, holding hand and read the book together, asking each other every 10 minutes "What page you up to?" and then talking about what we had read as we went along.

BTW, I loved the book (of course)

The bookstore has a vault big enough to hold all those books?  Shocked

The Warehouse is not a book store...it is a discount variety store, specialising in everything cheap, ugly and made in Chinese sweat shops. They are not known for selling books, just cashing in on the oppurtunity to get people into their stores.

My friend works at The Warehouse (dodgy Australian cheap discount store). They got Deathly Hallows delivered on Tuesday - came in a special van with escorts who took the copies into the store's vault.

Any of your husband's/SOs excited too? My husband (for some reason unbeknownst to me) decided to pick up and read book 5 in 2 days. Now he's on book 6 and really excited about the movie and the 7th book. Ummm, hello?? Where this this excitement of his come from? Really!

Anyways, we only pre-ordered one book so now what? We might actually end up reading the whole thing outloud together. I would say we should get a second book, but he's such a fast reader that I'd be on chapter 3 and he'd be sitting back analyzing the ending already! Therefore, no second book for us as I'd be majorly jealous and fixating on the fact that HE knows and I dont! hahaha

Wow, I'm taking this way too seriously.
My husband is like that too! We have two books ordered (one for my sister-in-law that we live with) and the three of us are already fighting over who gets to read them first.

My hott boyf moonlights for a local music street press, including doing a review of 5 new singles every week. This is his Harry Potter themed singles reviews for this week, hot off the press (published OTI and IRL today):

LANGUAGE WARNING a couple of naughty words but nothing too explicit.

So, I'd say yep, my other half is pretty excited about it all, too.

My hott boyf and I are buying 2 books, 1 adult's edition and 1 children's edition. He also reads faster than me but luckily he has to review a gig on Saturday night so I'll get a few hours reading up on him.

Wow!! You are the cutest thing I have ever seen, esp in your boobholder  Wink

That colourway is spectacular. May the powers that be bless Noro's cotton socks.

My boyfrind got us some free tickets through the music magazine he write for to go to see Mick Harvey solo (a founding member of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Birthday Party etc) because I am Nick Cave crazy - guess what date the concert is on??

Yup, the 21st of July, 2007.

I told him I am not going  - I can see Mick Harvey again but the ending of Harry potter happens once in a life time. My boyfriend was a bit flabbergasted at first, but now he gets it. I wouln'd even enjoy the show because I would spend the whole time thinking a Deathly Hallows and wanting the gig to finish so I could get back to the book.

I am far too paranoid of spoilers to go a release party...I saw a video of someone in the U.S. yelling "SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE!!!" at a line-up of people waiting to purchase the book when it was released  Angry What a loser!

My boyfrind is going to get our books at 9.01am coz I'm not leaving the house, watching the telly, answering the phone, reading text messages or looking at the internets from Thursday through to whenever I finish Deathly Hallows. Just to be sure.

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Gryffindor Lap Blankie on: July 15, 2007 02:40:51 AM
Well done! An amazing effort from "a hookin' newbie". You will be able to snuggle up with your blankie while you read the new Harry Potter book.  I can't wait. How many more sleeps to go?

I don't have the blankie - I sent it halfway across Australia for the Countdown to July: Harry Potter swap.

6 more sleeps for until Deathly Hallows. OH MY GOD!!! I am so excited, but a bit hesitant at the same time!!

Thanks for the comments - I might have to make one for myself, methinks.
