1  Harry Potter - Hogwarts House Band Cuffs in Knitting: Completed Projects by Crow Jane on: July 10, 2007 07:58:56 PM
I made these for the Countdown to July: Harry Potter swap.
I used Knitwit's great pattern. They are made out of 100% wool yarn (Cleckheaton Country & Spotlight Basics) and were so simple, easy, quick and fun. I think I will have to make more for my friends to wear when they are buying THE BOOK.

Here is a picture with my swapee wearing them:

2  Harry Potter Gryffindor Lap Blankie in Crochet: Completed Projects by Crow Jane on: July 10, 2007 07:35:05 PM
I made this for the Countdown to July: Harry Potter swap.

It is the first thing I have crocheted and I am mighty proud of it. It took a very long time because I am a hooking newbie but it was well worth the effort. I made it out of acrylic for easy washing. It is, of course, based on the Sock Monkey Blanket in The Happy Hooker.

Here is what I sent to the lovely Picklesticks:

The Lot

Coasters with some of Picklesticks fave quotes

House wrist bands

I put a little note with each different item explaining how it related to HP

House containers

Hogwarts mini-trunk

Crocheted Gryffindor lap blanket (my first crocheted item ever)

I received from LouLou54 this morning  Smiley

A covered Monster Book of Monsters notebook (I'm studying Zoology so I love all the HP creatures)

A beaded Hogwarts crest

2 little PotterPuff cards, 3 PotterPuff print-outs and a phoenix sticker (My favourite characters are Neville, Dumbledore & Fawkes)

Thank you so much, LouLou54 and, of course, many thanks to Superhooker and SevsOnlyGirl for organising this swap. I have had a great time.

5  Noro Silk Garden Cable Beanie in Knitting: Completed Projects by Crow Jane on: May 22, 2007 04:47:07 AM

This was a super-quick, instant gratification knit based heavily on the Basic Cable Beanie from Stich 'n' Bitch Nation. It took less than a day to make and I varied from the pattern by adding more rows and changing the decreases. The Noro Silk Garden was lovely to work with, especially as the full strength and beauty of each colour was revealed as I knit the beanie. More on blog.

6  Two-toned Wicked from ZephyrStyle in Knitting: Completed Projects by Crow Jane on: May 06, 2007 11:34:42 PM

I am very pleased with how this turned out. It was a very quick and easy knit, as well as my first top-down raglan and my first time using Patons' Zhivago. I was hoping that the cream and deep red would give the finished piece a bit of a retro feel. Plus: no seaming = joy!

More info on my blog.

Finished. I love it even if it is not perfect.

Finished the body - now I just have to decide if I want 1/2 or 3/4 length sleeves.

10  Midwest Moonlight in Knitting: Completed Projects by Crow Jane on: April 23, 2007 06:44:54 PM
This scarf took sooooo very long due to me having a 3 month break from knitting during our hot and humid Brisbane summer. This is my first attempt at lace knitting and I really enjoyed the lacy-but-not-too-flowery aspect of this pattern.

Those lighter coloured flecks you see are little tufts of pure silk which make knitting with this yarn an enjoyable experience.
