1  My first resin attempts in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Kalicokat on: May 08, 2008 10:15:47 AM
After seeing so many awesome pieces people have been posting I decided to give resin a try myself.
Sooo I went out and bought some stuff for it.
Might I add I spent $9 on mold release that I forgot to use... and didn't end up even needing. Grrr.

I used some star confetti, a guitar pick, and some old school lisa frank stickers I had laying around.

The one with the horse picture is slightly sticking out the back a bit so I think i'm going to have to brush some more over it.
I dont have a small enough drill to put holes in these.. so I think I need to go buy something I can glue onto the back to string them onto earrings and cord for necklaces.

Oh. And the two dominos were just me having fun. I'm planning on pouring a layer of resin over them.. maybe that will work better to seal them than using spray sealer?

Any tips or anything are welcome! I know this was my first try and its not all that great, but i'm pretty proud. :-)

Oh. And my cheap digital camera? has NO macro function. At all. So does anyone know of a better way to photograph this type of stuff without that? I miss my old camera. :-(

2  Re: Show us your Photoshop and PSP art!!! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Kalicokat on: May 28, 2006 08:37:23 AM
I don't do too many extreme alterations of photos in photoshop. Just resizing and fixing the brightness and making my zits go away. Tongue

But, sometimes when I get bored I do these semi funky things. None of them even started as a picture. Most either just a line or a blob. With filter after filter I arrived here.

I think thats probably good for now.  Smiley
