Happy Independence Day to all freedom loving Americans!

2  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 48 ENTRIES / Tiny Beer on: March 04, 2010 05:35:03 PM
My first challenge entry!  Please enjoy this tiny crocheted beer.  I was fooling around with some yarn scraps after I learned to make crocheted I-cord.  What fun!

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Morocco Bangle beaded bracelet on: February 14, 2010 02:46:12 PM
I saw this project on Craft Bits  (http://www.craftbits.com/project/morocco-bangle)
awhile back and decided to make a bracelet for my niece who's turning 21 on the 21st.  After I made a nice batch of bead soup, it was a very quick, easy and fun project with nice results.

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Pink Wiener Dog in Crochet on: January 31, 2010 10:09:56 AM

I recently accepted the challenge of a commission for a pink wiener dog.  The body is based on the crocheted kitten, made much longer of course.  The head was a learning experience!  Wiggly eyes and the pompom nose were lucky thrift store finds.  His/her mouth is a thin strip of felt glued on.  My client seemed well pleased.
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Mad Dog and Beetle Bug from Softies book on: November 21, 2009 05:41:45 PM

I've come down with a mild case of "softie fever" and was smitten with Mad Dog from "Softies Only A Mother Could Love".  Then, a friend gave me a couple yards of black suede-like fabric.  Destiny!  My sewing machine thread kept breaking though and I sewed him by hand.

Beetle Bug was the inspiration for this one.  She's sewn from fabric scraps and her gingham legs have quilt batting filling for added body.
6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Pink octopus & pet on: November 20, 2009 04:31:53 AM

Pink octopus has a pet puppy.  The stuffed dog is about 3", to give an idea of the scale.
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Small Art Quilt - Mature Content on: November 19, 2009 06:25:22 PM

Here's a small art quilt (6" X 5") I crafted using techniques I learned from Susan Shie at Turtle Art Camp.  Multicolor embroidery embellishes the applique and creates the quilting, bugle beads and seed beads add pizazz.
These are so much fun to make!
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Striped T-shirt Yarn Rug on: November 19, 2009 05:39:29 PM

Here's a rug made of recycled T-shirt yarn.  All the rows are worked from right to left, no turning at the end of the row. The long tails are tied to form the fringe.
9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Crocheted Kitten on: November 19, 2009 02:51:35 PM

Here's the crocheted kitten I made from this pattern

and some 25 cent yarn from the thrift store.
