2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Bamboo experiences? on: April 06, 2007 05:21:00 AM
What is bamboo yarn like?

I am thinking about using some 2ply bamboo yarn for some lace gloves (from IK winter 06) and I was wondering what it is like to knit with.
1. How does it block?
2. Whats it like to knit lace with? Is it too slippery?
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Feather yarn. on: September 28, 2006 04:28:28 AM
What should I do with nine balls of feather yarn? Thats 468 meters of polyester feathery stuff. Besides the obligitory garter stitch scarf. *yawn*.

It was given to me as a gift, and I have no ideas as to what I can do.

4  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / An old Cpu? on: March 20, 2006 04:55:37 AM
Hi! I only just joined- but I have been reading for awhile.
I pulled apart an ancient computer (c 1986) the other day, and pulled out the cpu, which was possibly the one prettyest things in there! it is grey-purple with gold prongs.

The only trouble is that i have absoulutley no idea what to do with it! my first thought was a broach, but I dont really wear them.
heres a pic:
(its a  really bad photo - my camera wasnt working real well)
Oh yeah, is there anything I can do to stop the prongs from bending?

Thanks for your imput!
