173  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: three shirts contact paper style on: November 01, 2006 02:57:01 PM
i print out my pattern. then cut it out of the contact paper using a craft knife. peel and stick to the shirt and fix any little mistakes i might have made. then use a brush to "blott" on  the ink.
ive been using jacquard textile ink. and i love it.  its pretty cheap, about $3 for basic colors and about $4 for any sparkly or shimmery ink
the next shirt i do ill have to make a tutorial.

my boyfriend is a 'big guy' this one got pretty messed up i left it to dry and i think he touched it before i could tell him not too.  or it was just my own human error.  still looks good enough to wear.

when my boyfriend moved into his new house with his mom, he had been living with his dad for a while, so he decided that his new room was going to be a sea theme.  we painting the walls a sandy color called 'sea grass'  except for the area around the bed, he wanted it white.

there was an odd shaped window that looked half at the chimney and half into the neighbors house.  so i stained glassed it.  ive gotten lots of complements from the neighbors and anyone whos ever been in that room of their house.

since i sleep there 2-3 times a week i needed my own space for clothes and of course my craftyness.  his sister gave us a really beat up old dresser and i made it my own.

close ups.

eternity begins and ends with the oceans tides.

also behind our bed is a mural thats still in progress.  i dont think it will even be finished bc every time i do something to it i dont like it and change it.  it was stormy and then bright it had tons of birds now only a few.  it was the starting of a sunset, now its mid-day.  it will never end.  the only thing ive kept is the bouy with the resting seagull on the right.

also in the corner behind the couch where the ceiling slopes ive got a net with some seashells and small wooden dolphins swimming with pictures i took on one of our vacations last year or the ocean waves clipped with small clothes pins.  the cat loves to knock everything and ive given up putting everything right every other day.

ive talked to much,  thanks for looking!

i actually live in dirrty Jersey. south jersey, about 20 minutes outside philadelphia, (depending on the bridge you take) you can see the airport from my house.
and waiting til after shristmas would actually be a great idea! i no longer buy presents i make them.
i have to tell you that my boyfriend is a HUGE dallas fan, its dangerous to date him during football season, my family being eagles fans and all.  so he will be excited for me. lol
im just glad someone else got excited over my idea like i did
thanks!

179  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / colored glass etching cream on: May 02, 2006 07:23:01 PM
hi all, im not sure where this question would fit, and any feed back would be a help right now.

i have used the glass etching cream by armour etch and loved the results.  ive done one vase and several shot glasses.  i was just wondering if there was a way to color the etching cream.  i have also used stained glass and have plenty of that laying around.

any other ideas you might have or even a place for getting good pictures for stencils wold be gret to. thank you so much!

180  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / dresser in distress on: April 02, 2006 08:10:16 PM
hi everyone I'm in need of some ideas bc i am drawing a total blank.  Huh

Ive got this tall dresser, 6 drawers, two smaller on the top with three knobs across both, and 4 bigger ones.  i took all the knobs off bc they were horrible.  i got it from my boyfriends sister and after sanding it down i am at a total loss at what to to with it.  even worse one side has been kicked in a bit, and putting that edge against a wall is not an option.  Undecided

the room its going in is a beach theme i was thinking of painting it the same color as the walls, a sandy tan color and accenting with the blues from the mural is did of the ocean on the wall.

i would love to make new knobs that are made of rope or twine, like a nautical knot found on a boat or something. i just cant seem to find how to do something like that.

other projects i have done include stain glass on a window and a glass vase, a mural on the wall, and in one corner of the room i have a fishermans net hanging with shells and dolphins swimming among photographs clipped with those baby sized clothes pins.

anything cheap and easy would be a great idea. thanks!!
