1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Marilyn Monroe trinket/dominoes box on: June 06, 2008 08:04:57 AM
I made this out of a dollar store domino box.  It's mostly paint and glitter; the stars are from a bracelet I bought while on vacation on Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood (they sort of resemble the stars on the sidewalks).  The jewel on top is from an old piece of jewelry.  The photo is from a postcard I also bought in Hollywood, covered with water-based finish.  Marilyn would approve, don't you think?  (Although now when I look at it I see a glitzy coffin thanks to my mortician dad, who looked at it and exclaimed, "It's a gerbil coffin!"  Thanks, Dad.)   Smiley

2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Sesame Street alphabet/number cards: Craft ideas? on: June 04, 2008 10:40:53 AM
I'm livin' in my folks place again and I found in my old toys a set of alphabet/number-learning flashcards made by Sesame Street in 1978.  I'm dying to make something with them, but I'm not sure what.  I'll bet you creative folks have lots of clever ideas, right?  Smiley  Here's an image of some of them; they are all in color and on the backs is a number or letter in black and white (they look better in person than in this lousy scan):

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / My First Post @ Craftster: Virgin Mary Matchbox Shrine! on: June 04, 2008 10:25:36 AM
Hello, all!  I've been watching your posts here at Craftster for a few years now, and here is my first post.  I made this Virgin Mother Mary shrine out of a tiny matchbox and several Swarovski crystal beads.  The "votive candles" are two beads.  The cross is from my baptismal necklace (although I wasn't baptized Catholic).  I think it's pretty cute, despite the lacking photo.  I'm still trying to get the hang of taking photos of miniatures.  Enjoy!  ~ Christine
