1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Organizing Headbands? on: August 06, 2006 10:39:13 PM
Hi All!  I did a little cleaning this weekend and realized and I have a ton of headbands that I use, but no where to put them.  I just kinda scatter them everywhere, then they get lost until I clean when I find all my favotrite pretty headbands.  So I come to you in search of tips for organizing plastic headbands.

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Yummy neckwarmer! *Pattern Added* on: March 11, 2005 12:46:37 PM
I made this in seed stitch using one ball of Jo-Ann's Sensations Licorice Yarn. I absolutely love the colors!

I used three green button for the closure.

Close up of the stitch.

The 'eek her face is one color' shot.  Wink

It was very easy to knit and super pretty to look at. I think I'm dubbing it the Candy Hicky Hider. It just looks like something you'd wear specifically to hide a hicky!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Question about neckwarmers... on: March 08, 2005 11:36:51 PM
I'm knitting a neckwarmer for a friend, but I'm kinda making the pattern up as I go. Just wondering what the general width and length would be for this. I'm trying to eyeball it with the mirror as I go along but it's kinda hard when the needles are all over the place.....

THANKS!!!!!!!!!! Grin Grin
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Simpsons and Loteria Shelves! on: January 17, 2005 10:02:05 AM
In preparation for our housewarming party this weekend, my boyfriend and I did some painting and docoupage on these plain wood shelves in our apartment. I'm really pleased with the way they turned out!

We used Loteria cards for the shelf next to my boyfriend's computer.
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Wanted: Pattern for Hooded scarf. on: January 01, 2005 06:56:52 PM
My friend has requested one, sounds easy enough. I Googled it too, but I didn't quite find one that made sense. I'm hoping someone has a good one bookmarked to share or maybe direct to a book where I can find the pattern.

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Ebay Vendors. on: October 31, 2004 11:06:40 AM
What are some of your favorite yarn stores on eBay? I don't have the time to go to my LYS so I make for it my supplying my stash with yarn from ebay. Here are two of my favorite:

http://stores.ebay.com/SOUTHWOOL-PLACE : Good place to find undyed wool.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knit bibs! on: September 20, 2004 12:29:21 AM
I had the intention of knitting a nice blanket for a pregnant friend, but I could not for the life of me find the time to do it! So I looked around for a quicker yet useful project and I came across these instructions for baby bibs. The pattern calls for garter stitch, but I did the first one in seed stitch and the second one in stocinette with a garter stitch border to prevent curling. I also spruced it up a little with a contrasting colored button.

Hooray! These are so quick and easy to make! I can't wait to give them to her tomorrow!

And thanks for the suggestions regarding my search for labels. I decided to get a stamp made and use it on ribbon. Here is a not so good picture:

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Labels! on: September 05, 2004 11:39:30 AM
Can anyone recommend a place online to get some labels made for my knitted scarves, preferably for cheap? I've been selling them at work (to help pay for college) and my co-workers have suggested I put labels on the scarves.

Even a DIY way to go about this would be helpful.

Thank you!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / DIY Point Protectors? on: June 15, 2004 05:59:22 PM
I was wondering what everyone uses as point protectors in leiu of store bought ones. I'm pretty sure there's something else to use, but it keeps escaping me!

10  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Court Jester costume ideas PLEASE! on: May 24, 2004 07:05:32 PM
My neice is dressing up as a court jester for the Renaissance Fair at her Jr High School. I've tried searching google for costume ideas but I think I'm trying all the wrong phrases. Grr.

We want to keep it simple, DIY, and inexpensive without having to buy a costume.
