First off, that is a beautiful dress. I wish I was talented enough to make one!
Next....
Ok, since you asked, I'll tell you why many people boycott Walmart: because they treat their employees SHAMEFULLY (overworked and underpaid with little or no benefits). They are as close to slave-labor as you can get in America. Plus, there is no way that locally owned businesses can compete with their ridiculously low prices (not always a good thing, folks!) which they can offer because the goods they provide are the cheapest possible plastic crap, made by children in sweatshops in third world countries. Whew! I'll get off my soap box now.
That said, your dress is ADORABLE!!
Thats such a pretty dress you did a fantastic job!
I dont think walmart is that bad. ...and I don't get how it's the cheapest possible crap? Because its the exact same stuff you can buy in fred meyers or any store like that. I get some of what people say about walmart but personally where I live atleast it's not bad at all.
I think the whole wal-mart thing is almost a case-by-case deal.... Because in the area where I live, walking into Wal-Mart is the equivalent of sticking your head into a used diaper filled with rotton McDonalds food. Its never longer than 1 minute after stepping in the door that you hear a crying child. The Wal-Marts of my area are very dirty and disgusting places, where crime is a regular happening in the parkinglots.(FYI I'm no clean freak, not at all)
However, if you travel 100 miles north of where I am, the Wal-Marts are very clean and respectable-looking places, comparable to the "nicer" department stores.
So yeah...in addition to being a terrible corporation, in my area, its also just a disgusting place in general. So yeah...I believe that Wal-Marts are a case-by-case sort of thing (with the exception that they are a terrible corporation wherever they are.)
