1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / "sexying" up our bedroom! on: October 19, 2007 10:50:54 AM
ok ladies and gent's, pull out the big guns(ha!) on this one.

We just got married a few weeks ago(YAY!), and moved into a new house a few months ago. We are renting, but have painted it, put things up on the walls, etc. and can pretty much do whtever we want(as in paint/art,etc.)

Anyway, We don't have much money this year, with trying to pay off the little bit of debt we have, plus paying off the last of the wedding bills, so we decided to craft gifts this year.

I would really LOVE to make our bedroom really romantic, sexy place for us. very lush, and yummy.. so give me some ideas!

We don't have a dresser in there at the moment, but clothes are in the teeny closet and/or in buckets under the bed.

The only furniture we have in there is our bed, which is a four poster dark wood very square/mod bed.

and two bedside tables that match, the bedding is also brown. The walls are painted pale steely blue

so what can we do? We have no photos/art on the walls in our bedroom, no candles, no special lighting, nothing, though definitely NOT adverse to buying it.

I had some boudoir photos taken as a wedding gift for dh and I know he would love to display some of them..

but I am not sure what type of frames to use, or what photos to use.

Need some help!!

4  KNITTING / Knitalongs / IWK-Dollar & A half Cardigan? on: March 05, 2007 10:13:13 AM
anyone...anyone?

omg.. I was sick last week and was at the pharmacy in my teeny town picking up medicine and saw they carried IWK! what?! of course, they only carry ONE copy(not kidding) so it's a good thing I got it when I did! and when I saw the dollar and a half sweater I knew what the knit gods were telling me.. knit knit knit knit knit.. yum.

so.. I am annoyed with knitpicks cotlin colour choices though, and had to go with the keylime, even thoguh I wanted a brown, but I am poor and cotlin was the most I could afford! *sigh* oh well. we shall see..

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / A cache for my lovely boy!! on: February 11, 2007 09:16:15 PM
If anyone else geocaches, this might be a good idea for them!

so on April 4th, of 2006 my lovely then-boyfriend Tyler totally faked me out, created a fake cache page and decided to steal me away from studying for my college finals to do a cache.

Well the cache turned out to be a fake and he ended up proposing in one of our favourite places! sneaky bastid!

So for v-day he asked only for something homemade.. so I decided to create an authentic cache and put it in the place where he proposed!

so why not set up a cache in somewhere thats special to your boys/girls? It will especially help if it's a beautiful spot where peole can enjoy the view, etc.

for those that have no idea what I am talking about.. www.geocaching.com
6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / recipe book swap? on: November 20, 2006 10:59:58 AM
I'm kind of too afraid to be an organizer.. so if anyone wants to organize this... lol

Here's my idea...

Everyone crafts a recipe book, with say a minimum number of recipes, ie. like 20 or something.. so that everyone gets some recipes, but if you feel like it you can add more.

Now.. book is all subjective, It can be a recipe box, a recipe painting.. or a homemade book,etc.. something.  does this make any sense yet?

Anyone...anyone? I am going to go look at the rules for organizing,etc... and see what I might be undertaking before I accept the duty, but if anyones interested let me know!

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / etch a sketch table! (my moms work) on: October 25, 2006 09:12:27 PM
My mom was asked to participate in a furniture auction to raise funds for the families of cancer patients at the hospital that my little cousin is receiving treatment at.

We found a really funky retro table for 8$ at a flea market and revamped it a bit.. It looks sooo amazing in real life, the dials are made from polymer clay(thats her actual business, and journal making) the rest is all painted.. but when you seei t from certian angles it looks completely 3d..

9  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Go Anywhere Cardigan with Eco-Fil? on: October 10, 2006 04:19:47 PM
Anyone use this? I found it at walmart(in Canada) for less than 3.50.. a ball is 225g. though yardage is not mentioned.. 75%cotton, 25% acryllic.. I could only find one pic online..

I think i got the same colour. it is a purple with some nice variation in the colour(no varigation, or heathering really.. just not a solid completely solid colour.. if that makes sense.. very beautiful) there were beautiful colours and it knits bbbbeautifully..
I'm going to try the go anwhere cardigan from SNB with it.. I just did the swatch and it is right on, but I am suppper nervous.. it's my first adult sweater.. eep!
