1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / fabric? on: December 04, 2007 07:07:09 PM
I've been dying to whip up some cute clothes but the only fabric store near me is Joanns.  I pretty much hate all their fabric.  I can't explain why but nothing appeals to me.  Does anybody have some secret awesome fabric place they get theirs from?
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Printer that cuts on: May 29, 2006 07:11:48 PM
Has anyone heard of a printer that instead of printing a picture with ink, cuts out the shape you set it to from the computer?  I saw one on HSN or some channel like that (I think it was around $300) a while ago.  Now I've forgotten what kind it was and the only one I can find is the Craft Robo Pro (which is $400) and I swear it wasn't that one.  Has anyone heard of other brands that do the same thing?  I think it would be awesome for stenciling!  Thanks!
3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / First Stencil! NYC Skyline bag on: March 28, 2006 07:38:10 PM
I made this bag for a friend for her birthday.  I actually made another one in different shades (for another friend for her b-day...their b-days are a few days apart) but I'd already given it away.  I'm pretty happy how it came out considering the rouching that got in the way!  Oh...we're all going to NYC with school in April so i thought they could use it to carry all their shopping!   Grin

4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / laserjet + freezer paper on: March 26, 2006 11:08:03 AM
ok i'm sorry, i know this has been asked before but i'm about to stencil a design onto a bag and i was wondering if running freezer paper through my laserjet printer will absolutely kill it.  the reason i can't just go by what everyone else has said is because i ran book cover (plastic one side/paper on other) (contact paper? http://img59.echo.cx/img59/2250/paper1cq.jpg) through it with the plasticy sticker side still on and printed directly on the plastic.  The plastic didn't melt at all...the only problem was the ink was streaked down the page.  If that plastic was able to withstand the heat, will freezer paper?
