I received 4 sets of earrings this week. Lots of fun to find these envelopes in the mailbox when I got home from school.

First up is a lovely simple pair from Tara1979:

Thank you, Tara! They're lovely!

~*~

Then a cute chandelier set from 3beadgirls. I actually have these beads in my bead box, but for another project!

Thank you, 3beadgirls! They're such fun!

~*~
Then a funky set of dangles from reethi. My daughter is currently fondling them. Smiley

Thank you, reethi! They're a perfect match for most of my clothes

~*~

Last but definitely not least is a great pair from spunkyPOPmonkey. I love the colour combination.

Thank you, spunkyPOPmonkey! I look forward to wearing these lovelies!

I received my earrings from Miss Violaceous!

Check out this gorgeousness:

The smaller beads are a Jasper (she said she thinks it's picasso jasper) and the daisies are hand cut glass. They're gorgeous and go perfectly with a bracelet I already have!

Thank you so much, Miss Violaceous, I love them!

Ok, I can't remember who I got this awesome fabric from but I do know it's from the fabric swap!

I found a cute as anything pattern for a zippered bag on a Japanese craft site and decided I'd make my kidlet's pencil case for this school year using the pattern. I allowed her free choice in my fabric cupboard and she chose a very cute busy ladies fabric. I paired it with some striped fabric I found at bouclairs and voila! A pencil case!

I rushed too much with the putting in of the zipper so it's a bit sloppy, but the kidlet doesn't mind.

I've been in a personal swap with loves2experiment for a while now! We were aiming for an August 31st send out but that didn't happen, and I have yet to send out my end of things yet. Bad me! But I must show off the gorgeous pantas and fabric loves2 sent me!

The pink panta is for my kidlet, who loves pink with a passion. The orange one is for me and is so unbelievably soft (microfiber yarn) plus the bonus of matching fat quarters of fabric!

yay!

Thank you, loves2experiment! They're awesome.

5  Re: Paper & Ephemera Swap 4 - Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Melesse on: September 17, 2006 09:51:23 AM
When it rains it pours! I received all my paper swap packages on the same day. A fabulous, fabulous haul! Look, see and drool in envy.

~*~
First up, my package from Shiitake in Finland!

She included images from calendars, magazine pages, receipts, envelopes, gosh, so much!

My favourites from the pile: a paper/fabric sheet in orange shades, some sewn envelopes made from calendar cutouts and 3 fox stickers (which my daughter wants to run off with!)

Thank you so much, Shiitake! The selection you sent is amazing and I can't wait to start using it all!

~*~

Next up came the package from jojokeller in Korea!

She sent a massive pile of various fancy papers that I can't remember the name of at the moment, perfect for card making, some cartoons, postcards, posters, and much more!

My favourites from jojo are the posters, a grocery flyer, 2 postcards, some very odd to me stickers with people saying things I cannot read at all and some very cute fancy paper!

Thank you so much jojo! I'm actually a little intimidated by the gorgeous fancy paper you sent, it demands to be used and used well! Smiley

~*~

Last but not least, the package from Phizzychick in England!

She sent me a fabulous selection of corrugated paper, wallpaper samples, origami paper, pages from books and a journal, and tons of ephemera.

My favourites in this package are the pages from the journal (with instructions to learn ballet moves on that day, etc), a calendar page made from papyrus, a colour and cut out landscape thing, and some cards.

Thank you so much, Phizzychick! The sheer volume of different things you sent has ignited my imagination of things to make and do.

~*~

Thanks again, partners! I'm so thrilled with what I received!

I find it a bit harder to read as well. Mainly my issues are in the background colours and fonts -- not enough contrast. The menus others have commented on blur for me because of the all caps and size of the font.

Er, how about a link to the screenshot instead since it resizes it wonky. here!

8  Score! Look at the yarn I got! in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by Melesse on: September 02, 2006 12:48:22 PM
So I got up obscenely early this morning and decided to head out to the Yarn Factory Outlet in Listowel. I had my list of things I wanted to make and I spent about an hour there picking them out. I just can't keep to myself how awesome some of my finds were!

I got 5 skeins of Patons Nuance in Marble, and some unknown black sock yarn  for 70 cents an ounce, various baby yarns at 35 cents an ounce. But my real find that has me squeeing in delight are the mill end cones.

I got roughly 5 pounds of Bernat Cool Crochet in Chocolate:

And dude... over 8 pounds (the scale tipped over at 8 ) of Patons SWS in Natural Geranium:

(I've been rolling balls off the cone this afternoon in anticipation of starting some Happy Hooker bunny slippers.)

Squee!

[edit, hah, I forgot. The cones were $15 each.]

Cosmicjacuzzi received from me on Wednesday and said I could post the pictures I have of what I sent her.

I made a tote bag based on her likes: stars, black, red and blue. The exterior is a fine wale black corduroy with stenciled on stars. It closes with a tie at the top.

Inside is an interior zippered pocket, a key thingy attachment and lined with a very neat metallic stars fabric.

She also mentioned a wish for a crocheted beanie, so since crochet is my newest lurve I made one as well.

I received three awesome sets of lampworked beads from jonnamarco yesterday! I was hoping to have some awesome pictures to show but everything so far is looking like poo and doesn't show at all the skill and care jonna put into these beads.

She sent me 3 sets -- 2 turtle sets and a cat set. The cat set is for my daughter who I described to jonna as "the crazy cat lady at 11 years old." The kidlet got an added surprise of some awesomely cute kitten stickers. She says thanks, jonna! Smiley

The turtle sets will be used for me and my best friend. They are so cute and perfect. Now I'm faced with the dilemma of how to string them and show off their awesomeness.

Thank you, jonna! You are a skilled artist and I love your work. Smiley

A picture teaser until I can get good ones or jonna posts hers (if she has them):
