I have a prom dress that I need to take in for June. It fit when I bought it... 3 years ago. But I've lost a bit of weight and the damn thing falls off now It needs to be taken in about 2-3 inches.

I'm pretty sure the fabric is taffeta, so does anyone have ANY tips at all to make this hopefully go smoother (thread, needles, etc?)? I'm not horrible at sewing, but I'm not very experienced either

I'm posting this quilt on behalf of my mother, who took many, many hours to complete this project. It's the first quilt she's done in many years, and I just so happened to be the lucky recipient. Of course I chose bright colours, cause yeah, pastels aren't my thing.  It's a double, btw. (And I apologize for the cell pics, my camera went on the fritz and died quite a while ago. I should really be looking into a replacement one, hmmm...)

I've had some 12"x12" mirror tiles hanging around for awhile and was just wondering about how I might stick them on the wall in my bedroom? Is there something special I need to get, or is there something else I can use?

Any help is greatly appreciated

After being deathly jealous over a friend's kitty hat, I decided I needed to be a kitty as well. Alas, she spent $30 on a few pieces of fleece sewed together, and I don't have the extra money for that. So I decided to crochet one instead and this is what I came up with...







Crocheted with some random worsted weight yarn I had laying around that I don't remember buying and a 4 mm hook. It's really comfy, meow!

Ok, I'm not really sure where else to really post these, but candle holders are for the home are they not? Anyway, feedback would be appreciated as I'm thinking of giving them away as gifts. I apologize for the crappy cell pics, my digi cam has died and I haven't gotten another yet...











They are seriously VERY prettier in person! Really bright too.

So I made Gummi bear earrings before, and liked the way they were holding out. So it inspired me to take my love of candy even further, and come up with this little critters:







Oh! I'm so in love! And my wiring skills are defiantly less than perfect, but I was slightly in a hurry and they're only for me to wear. I've had a couple requests for the froggy ones, they'll no doubt be a lot better. And one girl said she's going to wear them to our prom, yay! 

So, I got lazy and now realize that the tiara I wanted to buy for my prom might not get here in time. Sooo, I was thinking of making my own.

Does anyone know of any sort of tutorial for doing this? Thanks.

Neat, yes/no?

So, this is the first thing I've ever really sewed...it's just a basic circle skirt made with some awesome fabric I picked up, with 2 layers of black tulle underneath. It's not the best...but for my first try I think it's ok.
