21  Tattoo flash necklaces ~ experimental in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by volcano on: August 03, 2007 10:30:59 PM
Koi fish

Pinup girl w/ stars and crystal beads

I think I need to get a smoother look on the colors, though.  Also, the koi is a lot less feminine than I originally intended - I tried pairing it with crystal beads, but it just looked weird.  Opinions?

22  Two basic multi-strand necklaces in Beads: Completed Projects by volcano on: August 01, 2007 09:11:26 PM
Here are two necklaces I made a while back.  My attention span often causes my beading projects to be limited to "string beads on thread", which works well for a multi-strand.

The color doesn't show well in the photos, but this is pretty close:

23  Edward Gorey canisters in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by volcano on: July 30, 2007 10:12:05 PM
My old canisters were starting to look a bit shabby, so I decided it was time for some new ones.  The trickiest bit was finding plain white canisters.  I stenciled parts with freezer paper and painted the rest.

24  Anne Taintor kitchen canisters in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by volcano on: March 15, 2006 05:20:45 PM
I've been looking for kitchen canister forever and I really wanted something kind of quirky.  I couldn't find anything that suited and that was within my price range.  Everything was either ugly or wasn't airtight or was too small or whatever.  I wanted big ole' canisters because I bake a lot and because having a canister on the counter and half a sack of flour in the cupboard is hardly space-efficient.

Originally, I was thinking of putting pinup girls on them, but then I decided that Anne Taintor's whole take on femininity worked perfectly for the kitchen.  Anyway, I just printed up the images, gave them a healthy coating of Mod Podge, and glued them on to some Click-Clacks.  I used Liquid Nails Perfect Glue #1, which stuck really well but ended up rippling the images.  Oh well.

Behold

The pictures say "Maybe I want to look cheap," "Make your own damn dinner," "Let's ignore our mothers' well-meant advice," and "She had not yet decided whether to use her power for good or evil" and the canisters hold tea, flour, sugar, and pasta, respectively.
