1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Maggie Simpson costume on: November 11, 2009 04:06:51 PM
Thanks for the compliments! My little girl HATES having things on her head but for some reason she left it on for about an hour on Halloween.
Nobody else in my family dressed up like Simpsons characters.  Maybe when she's older, she'll be Lisa and my husband will be Homer...We'll see.

And about the pumpkin, yes those are toothpicks for teeth. It was a SCARY pumpkin.
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Maggie Simpson costume on: November 09, 2009 07:36:29 PM
This was my baby's first Halloween.  I was determined from the day that she was born that I'd make her a Maggie Simpson costume for halloween.

Here's how it turned out. I'm not a pro but it looked cute enough!

3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / Re: Melty cupcakes! on: September 23, 2007 09:47:23 AM
In most places (I believe), you need to cook in a certified kitchen to be able to sell food.....

Ain't this the truth!!! I was recently looking into starting a cupcake business...these are the things I learned
- you need to cook in a commercial kitchen
- you need to have liability insurance (in the off chance someone gets food poisioning and decides to sue)
- you need a food handlers permit

It was a sad wake-up call that was pretty much dream shattering for me....
Oh, I live in the state of Florida so check the Dept of Agriculture for whichever state you live in...but the majority do require you to cook out of a certified kitchen (which is good in a way, but stinks in a way too).
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Chico, a no-sew fabric pet portrait *w/photo* on: June 27, 2007 09:03:06 AM
I just love this idea. It's adorable.  I have a hard time drawing, even just tracing. I might have to try this one...

I have a dachshund and a fabric version of him would be too cute!
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Cute Wrap Skirt on: June 23, 2007 03:35:55 PM
I love this skirt! Did you make it from a pattern?
Could you take a picture of it on? Where did you get the fabric?

Great job!

these are awesome! what do you use to build up the sides of your pendants? i've done the microscope slide pendants before and i've tried to sandwich objects, but it never works out for me.

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: My Faux Solder Pendants on: June 20, 2007 09:22:01 AM
This is such a great idea. I tried to solder some pendants but I couldn't get it to look smooth enough.

What temp did you bake these at?
