there are a few abbey annes (or however you spell it) in cuyahoga falls.

i, personally, find them to be a touch pricey (compared to other thrift stores) but they're mostly furniture/domestics.
junk like that.

hmmm {thinks hard} i think they do... i don't knit so i didn't pay much attention to the yarn. there is a nice yarn/fabric/embroidery store in cuyahoga falls on state road: stitch, piece & purl. they had a lot but i'm not the best yarn-judge

i was too lazy to go through all 5 pages of this but piece and purl is pretty expensive. if you're looking for quality then i would definately go there.
im into sewing, myself but my friend that lives on 13th street took me there and we browsed for .. ohhh.... say about an hour... Smiley
13  Ohio / Ohio: Northeast / ATTN: KENT STATE CRAFTERS (kent campus)!!! on: August 04, 2006 10:36:18 PM
are there any?
i have a friend that knits/crochets and i sew.

we're both in interior design so we usually don't have any time to craft which is sad.
but we love it when we find the tiniest bit of time to do so.
who's with me??

school sucks.
we should just go to school to be a "professional 'craftster' crafter".. that'd be sweet.
14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Laptop bag swap on: July 30, 2006 07:32:27 AM
like many of you, i've been repulsed by the design/style (or lack there of) for laptop bags out there.. and being a design student.... that just won't do.

i've also been wondering what to use as padding to protect the second most expensive thing i own.
so i've been doing some research and dell makes a laptop sleeve using neoprene. i've looked on ebay and stuff and they sell sheets of it. it's kind of pricey but hey.... so was my laptop! i'm gonna protect that thing with my life!!

it's actually not that bad..
i found a square yd sheet (1/8" thick) for under $15 on ebay.

i'm going to be doing some more research on this.... but what do you guys think about neoprene (i'll probaby frequent this thread now.. Smiley)?

18  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / a QUICK stretchy material question... PLEASE VIEW!! on: April 02, 2006 08:24:01 AM
how do i get the thread to strech a little with the fabric?
is there a special technique that i haven't figured out yet? im a self taught, no pattern "seamstress" so i guess anything would help.

i made a shirt the other day and i absolutely love it but where i hemmed the bottom, im afraid that im going to break the thread when i put it on or take it off because it doesn't stretch with the material.....

PLEASE HELP ME!  Undecided
