1  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: Fruit images felted into Soap on: July 09, 2006 09:14:28 AM
Coming in WAY late to say how *great* I think these are. I keep coming back here for inspiration! I'm on my second dozen and they just keep gettin' better. Thanks for sharing these. I think I'm gonna try a bar with cherries on it in merino just to give it a shot (I've been using batts of alpaca up till now) and I'm not sure I would have without seeing these. Great work, GraceO!
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: baby sock change purse help needed on: July 02, 2006 01:18:17 AM
Hi all -

I'd like to bump this in order to point out that the link above (for finding the perfect hardware for this project) says that the item is no longer available. I've been scowering the web looking for something similar but can't find it. Are there any more links out there that you all are aware of? Thanks in advance! I'm jonesin' to make myself some cutie coin purses!   Grin
3  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Needle felting--take a class or teach yourself? on: March 25, 2006 12:17:07 PM
Well, having a new baby myself, I can hardly be partial. For me, just getting out of the house to do something creative and for myself would be worth the $$$.  Grin

That said, I taught myself. I bought a kit with all the goods and just threw myself in. I enjoyed learning my way around by checking out tutes and experiementing when dh had the baby. In that way, it might depend on your personality (do you like to be shown or to figure things out yourself) and whether you're craving a day out meeting fellow crafty folks.
4  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Question about Felting? on: March 25, 2006 12:11:58 PM
Hi there -

I know I'm way late in coming in on this question, but I wanted to throw it out there that I've used alpaca almost exclusively (up until early next week when my 'bag of candy' arrives, that is - woo hoo!) and have had beautiful results. I got my fiber from www.alpacas.etsy.com - they were great folks and had nice colors to choose from.

Hope this isn't too late to be helpful!

From where I'm sitting, you should be proud! Those are great!

And thanks for the warm welcome, G.O.  Smiley

Count me in as another felt-happy person who's new to this cool craftster gig. I came into this forum looking to ask this exact question so I'm happy you beat me to it. I'll be waiting eagerly to see any replies!  Grin
