1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Quilted purse on: May 19, 2006 04:03:12 PM
This took some planning Smiley ---I started out using a pattern but got too frusterated and threw it out (mom wasn't so happy bout that) and just did it my own way...I'm not one with patterns anyways---

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Alice In Wonderland Cigarbox on: May 19, 2006 03:24:15 PM
I love love love Alice in Wonderland so i decided to make her on a purse Smiley
(Sorry that the pictures don't really show the detail---they are a tad blurry...my digital camera is dying and i need to recharge the battery--i was just a bit excited to post it and didn't want to wait for it to recharge up! I tried to zoom in closer on the back of the purse using my computer, so i hope that helps a little---What do you guys think?

Ohh, and in case anyone is wondering I used acrylic paints with a gloss finish over it and then on the inside i lined it with felt from Hobby Lobby  Grin

I got this idea from http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=59563.0 ---when i saw hers i fell absolutely in love with it...Mine of course is not as well constructed as hers, but it was my first attempt so i am over all pleased with the results...I still need to make a closer for it..but i haven't decided on how i'd like to do it yet...

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Wire & Beaded Purse on: May 19, 2006 02:19:50 PM
Hey guys, this is my very first post!!

I made this purse actually last year, but haven't had a digital camera until more recently to take some photos of it. It's made out of wire (duh). Electrical wire actually. I couldn't find a big/sturdy enough wire at a craft store so i went to Ace Hardware and got electical wire that actually had this plastic stuff over it (well, i don't actually know what if it was plastic or what, but it was covered, and it looked like plastic) and had to stip it with this handy-dandy tool my dad had! It took HOURS!...Then i fiddled around with it for awhile and got a good shape and strung some beads on it to spruce it up a bit...Then since it was a bit holey i put some nice satiny fabric inside for a lining. it's not that big, so it doesn't fit much, but it's nice to take out to dinner, or something along those lines...What do you guys think???
