21  Re: Little Visitor Swap Round 6 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by annacharlotte on: March 19, 2007 04:47:14 PM
Claudette is here!  I can't believe she got here so fast.  Here she is unwinding on my meditiation cushion.  And I do mean unwinding...you should see the size of the box she arrived in!  I feel better that I'm not the only one who tried to save on postage by squishing my poor stuffy in a tiny box!   Cheesy

Oh, oh, I got mine too!  (I got TWO swap packages today!  What a lucky girl I am).  Wow, they are amazing.  Prepare to be jealous.  I present to you, Pax and Small!
Young Pax, getting his bearings:

And some closeups of Small cuz he's, well, small.

And his cute l'il furry face:

They are so beautifully sewn, and just the cutest little buttons you've ever seen.  I'm in awe of the skillz of Ms. Dragonflyducky.  Thank you so much!

Oh, dang, I should have advertised the Little Visitors in here but signups are closed now.  I think they're be another round this summer.  It is not, in fact, about the little red visitor who comes once a month, or the little colicky visitor who comes out screaming (I do love babies, just being silly), but about little stuffed visitors who go to vist a fellow craftster, spend a month or two on vacation, and come back with a story of their travels and, if you're lucky, some new clothes or other goodies.  Since this is a stuffy-centric forum, I hope it's all right if I share some photos of my little visitor.  She's on her way to England right now.

Here she is, not quite done...

And here she is packed up and ready to fly across the sea.

The fun thing about this swap is that you can use a stuffy you already have (hint hint), or make a new one.  I hope to see some of you in Round 7!

24  Re: Fill-a-Matchbox SUPPLY Swap R1 (Send Feb 28) in The Swap Gallery by annacharlotte on: March 12, 2007 08:24:01 PM
Finally posting pics of the adorable goodies I got from Goldsheepbowl.  I'm so sorry it took me forever...I got a little over-burdened with extracurriculars if you know what I mean...

Here's the box....

And here's all the schtuff....

Faves are the sweet little koala, and the monkey bead.  And teensy weensy lime slices.  Yay!  Oops, and I forgot to get the fabric in the photo--really cool Chinese patterned silk...  Sorry for the delay!  I love it just as much as  the others!  I just got overwhelmed by life for a moment.

The sweet little pouch it came in:

The gorgeous French Canadian matchbox that needs no decoration (pardon the flash):

And the fixin's:

Closeup of cute hedgehog sticker and fortunes:

And I hope I get news about my job soon...hope it's good news too!
Thank you Katelyn!  I love it!  Oh, I already said that...

I received from the Felt Fairy and was so charmed...  the contents were very different from what I shipped out (today, and I am PMing everyone right after I finish this post!), and everything was just adorable.  Here goes...
Beautiful felt (of course) covered matchbox with tree:

The whole spread:

Closeup of my favorite stuff--a handmade felted ladybug, and three blown-glass fish!

Lucky, lucky me.

27  Little Visitor doll almost done, advice needed in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by annacharlotte on: February 17, 2007 08:20:34 AM
Hi craftsters.  I'm working on my Little Visitor for Round 6 of the Little Visitors swap.  I've named her Leila, and I'm pretty thrilled with her so far.

However, I'm nervous about doing her face, because the fabric I used is really thin and I'm pretty sure I'll only get one go at the embroidery/whatever I use...

Anyone have tips about doll and stuffy faces?  Links to great ones?  Any help at all would be much appreciated.  She's so cute (I think) I don't want to mess her up now!

28  Re: Little Visitor Swap #6!!! Sign-ups Feb 15-March 9, Send outs March 16 & May in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by annacharlotte on: February 17, 2007 08:14:53 AM
All right, here she is...not quite done, but on her way.  I think I'm going to call her Leila.  I'm scared to do her face....the fabric is so thin I know I'll only get one go.  While I get my courage up I'm going to make her some socks.

(Note to organizer...please match me with a stuffy I can make clothes for!  This is quickly becoming an addiction!)

Marleah, sorry it took me so long to post photos.  Without further ado....
My haul!

Cutey-pie matchbooks (get it, match-books).

I'm totally swooning over this Art Nouveau bookmark (and I was kicking myself for putting that in my swap questionairre...I was like, what is your partner going to care what style of illustration you like!?)

My darling surrogate doggy

Me trying to be cute (the scarf doesn't have to try)

And my favorite, an adorable little embroidered pouch with my name on it.  It makes me feel like I'm five, in the best sort of way!

Thank you Marleah!  You did a fantastic job!
