I also pm'ed Therisa an explanation, but it was tricky to do because, again, the code was not allowed in the pm--it thought I was trying to send a pic even when I added asterics and spaces.  <shrug>

Here's Therisa's picture, anyway:

I'm in!  And Keilo's is too.  Anyone who may be crafting toys for her, beware.  The following photos are not for the faint of heart.  This, my pretties, is What Happened to Squeakers.

13  Re: Beautiful Use Swap? in New Swap Theme Ideas by annacharlotte on: December 31, 2007 11:43:55 AM
Humm, hummm...I'm having second thoughts about my proposed dates, because I realize I actually have more time now than I will in Feb.  Plus I'm just really excited to start.  What would you guys think about my posting signups today or tomorrow, to close around 1/10, with sendouts in February?  Maybe a 3-4 week crafting time?

I want to make it long enough that people have time to sniff out really special treasures that will suit their partners tastes... and achieving beautiful and useful perfection will take a bit of time, I expect.

Sound reasonable?  I'm flexible if this doesn't work for folks...

And a little beautiful, useful eye candy:

14  Felt Book Cover with Winter Tree in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by annacharlotte on: December 30, 2007 10:02:12 AM
I feel I should say this isn't made out of paper, so if I'm in the wrong place do let me know.  I saw other book covers in here, though, so here goes:

I made this for a dear friend who's moved to London (yay for her, boo for me).  It's covering a Moleskine city notebook for--where else?--London.

Thought of the design at 6 a.m. on a snowy Saturday after the dog needed walking and I couldn't get back to sleep.

Here is the front cover, with clementines:

And the back, with frustratingly baggy elastic closure that I already re-sewed once...I'm afraid the felt will come apart if I rip it out again, so baggy it is:

And there you have it.  I was happy to finish something...been doing all big, long projects lately, and this was done in a day (though the button-sewing took several hours of TV watching to complete).  Yeah, I'm slow.  Let me know what you think.

15  Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along in Craftalongs by annacharlotte on: December 24, 2007 07:53:31 AM
For folks who are struggling with clothes...I did the Little Visitors swap (poppets would make great little visitors, BTW!) a while ago, and made my visitor a really simple dress with a circle skirt.  Make it out of jersey and it's even easier--no hemming!  You just cut a circle whose circumferance is the length you want, and then snip a hole in the middle that's the right size for your poppet's tummy.  Sew a ribbon to the waistband if you like, or attach it to a top, or just leave it alone.

Here's Claudette:

I also made her hat.

Could probably cobble together a tutorial if you like...

16  Re: "Nekkid Sleep-In" Hot Water Bottle Cover - Now in Emo Flavour! in Knitting: Completed Projects by annacharlotte on: December 04, 2007 07:35:12 AM
I thought this was hysterical, and e-mailed a link to my aunt whose knitting group promptly whipped one up for a knitter who was getting hitched.  Here's their version, with the nekkids suitably adorned to resemble the recipients.   (This is my first time trying the Craftster photo-hosting option.  Hope this works).

17  Re: Pin Cushion Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by annacharlotte on: September 24, 2007 05:24:59 PM
Yay, I'm so glad you like it!  As it turned out, the orange issue was no problem at all, thank god!

And now, because I'm an egomaniac, here are some more pics (sans watering can, which I sewed on at the last minute).  And, I took my photos in a "forest" cuz I'm cheesy.  A cheesy egomaniac.  The very worst kind.

Door and cat:

What is this naughty kitty up to?

And the autumn raking's all done.  It's leaf-pile-jumping time!

I received!  I told Susana that I <3 peacocks, and she made me this little beauty...

From the front:

In profile:

And her little friend, the shining moon:

That's right--not one but two lovely pincushions.  I'm totally spoiled.

I also sent mine today (in all its orange glory), so it should be in New Jersey soon!

19  Re: Little Visitor Swap Round 6 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by annacharlotte on: June 10, 2007 09:17:52 AM

Well, Leila arrived during the Craftster drought, but happily it is raining ribbons and fabrics and threads again and I can show you all what she brought home!

Here comes the picture show.

Out of the box and ready to rock.  I looove her new sweater!  So cute!  It suits her very well.

And (cover the children's eyes) here she is in her new skivvies!

Showing her English pride:

And now the scrapbook...

Her first day:

My favorite page, learning the English ways...

Now with clever vellum overlay!

And this page totally cracked me up!  Here is Leila, being snubbed by the English gentry.

At the chilly sea with her marvelous hostess, 2711:

Meeting the British Scooby Doo:

Where's Leila?

The Belle of Bristol:

Leila had a great time.  Thanks, 2711!

I hope Claudette gets home soon.  She should be there any minute, cuz I sent a day or two before Leila went in the mail.  Everybody cross your fingers she gets home safely.

20  Re: Best Garage Sale Finds!!! in Discussion and Questions by annacharlotte on: June 02, 2007 10:27:14 AM
I have to resurrect this thread to post these beauties, acquired today at the annual Little Sisters of the Poor sale right down the street from my house in St. Paul, MN.  They're from a set of cards for use with disabled adults called "What's Wrong With This Picture?''

I call this one "Ballerina Boots."

"Flower Sandwich"

"I Know There is Something I May Have Forgot"

"Wrong Decade"

And my favorite....
"Miss Craftster 2007"

Sorry for the excess of images...they're just too funny.  And I have a whole box!
