The first thing I made to teach myself how to crochet was the boy beanie, but since it looks exactly like the one in the book, I see no reason to post it.
This Frou-Frou was my second project. It didn't take too long. As a knitter, I am continually amazed by how fast crochet works up. It's great for avoiding working on my thesis and my marking.
Ignore the hat. My current haircolour just clashed too badly with the sweater for me to be able to post it. (see next picture) I won't be able to wear the thing for at least another five months anyway, so I'll probably be on a different colour by then. This is such a comfy sweater.
The next one was supposed to be the Knot Ugly shrug. I checked my gauge beforehand, but there I must have been on too much NyQuil for my flu, since it came out *huge*. However, I did manage to turn it into a kind of cropped mesh wrap cardi with a piece of black ribbon.
I'm pretty pleased with it, actually. I think this flatters my ginormous boobs more than Knot Ugly would have.
The third picture is my One Skein Scarf, made with two colours. I knocked this off in a few hours after finishing Knot Ugly. The colours remind me of poppy flowers. Here it is being modelled by my computer chair.
Next project? I'm working on a skull afghan based on the Skullholder pattern, just like the anecdote in the pattern intro. It's about halfway done. I have much work to avoid. ^_^
