1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: What am I doing wrong? on: March 24, 2013 06:44:53 PM
I wonder if maybe your decreases are causing the stitches to "travel", making it look swirled. It's actually a pretty cool look though.

I like the look of it, too, but it wasn't what I was going for, hehe.
I'm not sure how the decreases would make the entire thing look swirled, though?

can you post a larger, clearer close up photo of the stitches? I would love to help (and am very curious to see what causes this) but I can't see any detail.

Is this large enough?

Hey all, I was knitting a 2x2 rib hat in the round, and no matter what I seemed to do, it's on an angle.
I'm almost at my wits end with figuring out what the reason is, and I've exhausted my searching options. Not even sure what terms I should be looking for, if I'm honest :///

It's so crooked....
I just want to fold up the brim and have it look decent.

What am I doing wrong? is it something when I join in the round?

Oooooh! Those blue ones with the flowers are gorgeous! And the plaid ones too. I'm so jealous, I'm addicted to leggings Wink Was it hard to work with the stretchy fabric?

Thank you so much! I love that blue fabric so hard.
I actually prefer to work with stretch knits. I guess that's against the grain, but I find it so much easier!

Those are awesome, especially in love with the gold ones! Where did you get the fabric at? I have a hard time finding cool stretchy fabrics, except for taking apart clothes from thrift stores.

Thank you! Cheesy
I got the fabric from a friend, who got them from a seamstress who makes children's dance costumes, lol.

I like very much.. Ive been thinking about making my own leggings when it gets a bit cooler. Did you wing it, or use a pattern? How do these fit? They look quite basic (as in, I could do that)

Thank you! Cheesy
I used an old pair of pants as a base pattern(make sure they fit you first, lol), then modified(coughtrialanderrorcough) it. They fit really well!

I made these over the weekend!
I cut out 18 pairs, and I wanted to finish more than just the 5, but I'm glad I found the time, hahaha!

I wish I had more of this fabric!

I do have to say, though, that I love working with Lycra and stretch knits!
