My niece asked me to make something for her ICO fund raiser. ICO is a division of the Sierra Club which takes inner-city children out into nature. My niece is modeling the beret I made in two of the pictures.

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Themed Dotee/art doll swap on: March 22, 2009 02:22:44 PM
would anyone be interested in doing a 4 seasons themed dotee/art doll swap?  The idea is that there would be groups of 5 swapers.  Each person would make four dotee/ art dolls; one for winter, one for spring, one for summer, one for fall.  They would then send one of their dolls to each of the other members in their group.
Everyone would make a doll for each season.
Everyone would receive a doll for each season.

anyone interested?Huh
Here are the galleries from previous Dotee swaps:

4  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / How did I get into this? on: March 20, 2009 05:42:13 AM
I was showing my brother some scarves I had felted and he liked two of them the best:

They both took a lot of work. The stain glass windowscarf had to be dyed twice.  The bubble scarf needed tons of marbles rubber banded into it (and then removed)

So Pat says he wants me to make him a scarf - but he wants it to look like both of these - but longer and wider (he is a big boy).  Yikes - this will take for ever.
So after hours and hours and hours and hours.....of work (this one took two tons of marbles Grin).... I present the bubble stain glass scarf:

Doesn't Pat look great in his new scarf?

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Gourd Vessels on: September 08, 2007 05:39:52 PM
I made the fist one at art camp.  Another project I was not expecting to be thrilled about that I really got into.

When i got home from camp my sister liked it so much she wanted to borrow it.  So since she had a birthday coming up I decided to make her a blue one that would go better in her massage room.

She loves it - and I get to see it at least once a week when I go for my massage.

There is nothing like having a massage therapist who works next door Smiley  I get to go over in my robe!

7  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / cliff swallow on: May 11, 2007 08:08:14 PM
I made this fellow for the felt mascot or little stuffie swap. i
Every thing is felt except for the stuffing and the legs.  The legs are wire covered with floral tape.  I started with a bird shape resist and they layed down the eventual outside layer first.  Since the legs were felted into the body they were the first thing down.

His name is Shatsoo and he was very hard to give away.
