So cute, Sarasvati!

Holly - Cool with the Aussie connection! Maybe now you'll have a reason to visit Australia! Smiley Lapidary is really my first love. The wrapping is just so I can do something with them!

BeaG - You can see how it effects your sales. I once raised my price way too much, and had some feedback about that! So I lowered it and 'recovered' my sales, and then I raised it maybe $1 a year, with some changes in design. Good luck!

Barbalot - Congratulations too!

...and Erika too, with 500 sales!!

Here's my latest wrapping play: (it's for me  Grin )

Hi Craftsers! It HAS been forever and ever since I've posted on here. I first opened in March of 06! I started with not selling and dispairing, to selling over $800 a month and then burning out, and doing everything from trying to sell handknit socks (that's how I chose the name 'Sockdiva' and I never did sell a pair of socks!  Cheesy) to my staple Sockbug purse to now trying to sell more expensive jewelry! I regret letting the momentum die, and it does if you don't keep promoting, to almost starting over now.

So I'm back, to make sure I'm still making things by sharing them here, to offer encouragement, see all the awesome things you guys are making, and trying to pace myself better so I keep ENJOYING making things, and not burning out again!

For fun, I thought I'd share a photo of the first 'jewelry' I listed, and my latest!

I discover polymer clay! And I added a glass bead! Woot!

Left polymer for lapidary. Now I have HUNDREDS of pounds of raw rock, a 14 inch saw and Genie. And I discovered Eni...

3  Re: Fiber Friday April 13th in Spinning: Completed Projects by Sockdiva on: April 13, 2007 04:00:49 PM
I hadn't spun for months! Then I wandered here (hi Amy!) and saw all the wonderful skeins of goodness, I got inspired! So I spun up this soy silk that I won on ebay, and navajo plied.

I've been so busy sewing, but I think just to join in with all you awesome spinners, I'll be at my wheel more, no matter how crazy busy I feel!

Ooh, AishaCelia, that skein is luscious!!

That owl purse was TOO CUTE!

BeaG, I like that jewelry! Perfect for the techie kind...

Here's a ring I just finished, but haven't listed yet.  I want to take better pics in the daytime before I list it. But I'm restless! I'm hitting a slow period in sales. Boohoo. Did I mention that already? I've been doing a lot of whining too. :-)

5  Re: Clapotis from Knitty in Knitalongs by Sockdiva on: February 21, 2007 12:04:32 AM
I am SOOO addicted to knitting Clapotis'!  I finished my first from handpaintedyarn.com, the boucle, and thisis how it turned out. It drapes sooo nicely!  I can wear it like a scarf too...I was outside watching the bike racers in the Tour of California, all those international cyclists, and I felt so...international!

I keep waiting for someone to come up to me and talk about knitting Clapotis, but so far, I think I'm the only one in my town that has. Boohoo. But luckily I get to read this thread and feel that you'all understandGrin

Right now I'm knitting one from a superwash merino ordered from Elann. And then today, I completely splurged and bought some wool/silk handdyed yarn from MysticalCreationYarn.etsy.com Here's the pic from their shop:

I know it's bulky, so I'm thinking it'll be this wonderful wrapped shawl from Fall. So funny, I usually knit socks. Many socks, mindlessly and automatically. Now I'm into Clapotis! Takes much longer, but so fun to wear!!

I've had a couple of buyers 'think' they paid with Paypal, but probably never finished the transaction, cause there are a few screens to go through. I send the invoice, and one came through, the other didn't - I wish is were clearer, but I don't know how they can do that.

I just got so busy, I'm not adding much to my shop either! But I did do this ring that I really like!

I'm sort of dreading this slowing period, but I guess it's a good time to make things!

Thanks about the sampler advice. I'll post her again!  Smiley

I sent an inquiry to The Sampler weeks ago, and haven't heard back yet. Is that usual?

Also, I hit 200 hearts!! That's awesome, it took so long after 170 to get more hearts.

I'm so glad the views are back. I really depend on that feedback to decide what to do more of to list. For instance, I don't think I'll be doing any more barbed wire pendants! Okay, that was a bit much, and got the least views of anything.  Roll Eyes Is it that far out?

8  Re: Show me your unappreciated etsy work! in Selling Crafts on Etsy.com by Sockdiva on: November 20, 2006 07:19:46 PM
I think it's my Sterling wrapped freeform cabs that I shape myself.  They sell well in person, and when I posted a pic of one in the Rockhound forum I belong to, it was bought by an established rockhound, and he said it was terrific, and I wasn't charging enough!

It's just hard to sell jewelry on Etsy, at least for me!

Here's my latest:

and a pic if you don't feel like clicking.  Grin
and another I'm going to list in the next couple of days:

I made buttons!!

So much fun! The Tecre 100 is awesome. I'm so glad I went with that!!! My daughter is having too much fun too. I'm using Word, and it works for me just fine. :-) All those years of doing volunteer newsletters. lol.

WOOHOO!! I have my button machine. It's the greatest fun!! It's a Tecre 100, and it's sooo easy to make buttons. I spent all day yesterday making buttons. I wanted it for promos and to sell in my shop, for something in the under $5 catagory and for a range of prices. Here's some I just made!

Amy, some are on their way to you already.  Cheesy

I'm not sure how to package a set of 4 buttons though. So far I've thought of just putting them in a little plastic zip lock with my business card in it. Any suggestions?
