11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Fun with mom's embroidery machine on: May 02, 2005 07:37:43 PM
My mom bought an embroidery machine a little while ago and I've just started getting to play with it because i just came home from college for the summer! Today I reconstructed a pair of cordury capris into a skirt and used her new machine to stick a super cute picture of a quail on there!

12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Bridesmaids outfits on: April 25, 2005 01:18:19 PM
I have a friend who grew up in Bangladesh as a missionary kid. She is getting married and asked me to make two of her bridesmaids' outfits for her. They are traditional bangladesh-style outfits. Here is one of her bridesmaids modelling the finished outift.

13  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Multiple frame frame! on: March 29, 2005 03:39:38 PM
Hey Smiley I had a bunch of cute pictures from my spring break this year and I wanted to put some of them all together. I love those frames with multiple spots.. but they're so expensive! So I bought some frames from IKEA and made this:

I just painted each frame with one layer of white primer, so it's still a bit see through and kinda worn-looking (to go with the beach pictures). Then I put one picture of each of us and one of all of us together! Voila!

Here are the individual pictures closer:

14  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Hired to make bridesmaids dresses... on: March 18, 2005 11:59:12 AM
Hey, my friend is getting married this summer. She grew up in Bangladesh as an MK so she is having her wedding in that style. Her bridesmaid's outfits are going to be simple tunic-style tops with straight pants. She asked me to make these outfits.. my question is, how much should I charge per hour? I've sold stuff that I've made before, but never something like this, and I have no idea how much it would be worth. I tried looking online for seamstress stuff, but to no avail! Any help would be great Smiley Thanks!
15  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / TWU Booties on: February 15, 2005 11:54:01 PM
I decided I needed to knit and went with slippers/booties. I had some very thin yarn so I doubled it up.. yellow and white for the first one and blue and white for the second (Because I didn't have enough yellow for the second one). Then I put on pom-poms. I dubbed them my TWU booties because my school (TWU)'s colors are blue and gold.

16  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / IKEA Hamper on: January 30, 2005 03:25:02 PM
I had one of these cool little IKEA hampers:

and it was starting to tear because, let's face it, it's just plastic.  I had been wanting to recover it with something exciting ever since I bought it, so yesterday I did! I bought the fabric at IKEA (so it's still an IKEA hamper..) and it's that nice heavyweight upholstery stuff.  I ripped apart my old hamper and measured and cut and sewed and made this:

17  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Napoleon Dynamite Shirt on: January 25, 2005 10:50:51 PM
I always loved the part where Deb is trying to sell her keychains and Kip yells "Your mom goes to college!"...so I made it into a shirt.

18  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Goose Greeting cards - gift set (many pictures!) on: November 29, 2004 09:29:42 PM
I made these greeting cards for a girl in my dorm.. she loves little duckies.. this is a little goose.. i figure close enough. I cut the pictures out of an old book I got at value village (Mac Gooses' Grocery) and pasted them on my cards. I put white on the inside of all of them to give a good writing space.

19  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Bamboo Journal on: November 29, 2004 12:11:02 PM
I made this journal for a girl in my dorm.. the covers are just thick cardboard with fabric glued on, I bound it with a coptic stitch, and I glued bamboo skewers to the front (after shortening them a bit and removing the pointy end!)
