Hey, can i ask, if i were to attempt this with a furry material instead of just plain cloth, you think it'd work as well? Or the book wont even close? Hmm,

Hmm..I'd say it would depend on how furry your furry fabric is, and how much ease you give to the spine. You might need to give it more space for the spine to close around than I do in my tutorial and then it would probably close.
22  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Labels for Embroidery Company on: May 11, 2006 12:43:04 PM
Hey Everyone,

My mom has recently become hooked on machine embroidery, she has a fancy machine and everything, and my aunt suggested that she start a small business so she can buy supplies and things wholesale. She does various small  projects for people and is hoping to start doing more. She called her business "Sharyn's Addiction" (very apt name, I believe!) and she wants to buy some of those little woven labels you can sew into things you make, know what I'm talking about? like this: http://www.charmwoven.com/page.html ... and anyway she's trying to decide what they should say.

She doesn't think "Created by Sharyn's Addiction" sounds very good or is very accurate, since she didn't actually create the item of clothing or the thing being embroidered, she just did it. What do you guys think? Any suggestions would be appreciated Smiley

Wow! Awesome! It looks really really good...I love the stripes and the edging in the lighter brown, and the moose looks incredible. I hope he wears it all the time to show off how incredible that is!

25  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Shirt purse! on: March 31, 2006 05:43:50 PM

It's okay so far - I think it also helped that the "strap" is sort of short - it allows for some stretchage without looking strange.  But I don't normally carry too much stuff anyway.  I'm sure a heavy sweater might be better - much stronger.

Ok, good to know. I think I might try this with my sweater, but I might put a lining of something not stretchy because I tend to kinda pack my bags tight. I was going to get rid of this sweater because I never wear it but I probably would use it as a little tote bag! I'll post it if I make it.

Amazing! I have a sweater I'd love to do that with. Do you find that you have trouble with weight in it though, since it's so stretchy? It seems like it would be out of shape all the time.
