OMG...I don't come to the art section enough! Those are awesome...I especially like the second one, the colors and the design are amazing! I want to go to a street cafe that looks like THAT! Cheesy

Wow!! Cool...I was an RA but we weren't allowed to paint or anything, we barely even could hang anything on the walls...so I had to do the best I could with sticking fabric over the hideous couches and putting random stuff up around. That looks amazing! I bet your dormies loved it!

I LOVE IT! I think, if you can keep a version as it is and also have a busy version that would be cool to see, I think more details could be really cool Smiley

Wow, so are you going to illustrate it all and then get it published? I love it so far, totally looks like a book I would buy for my future children!

I love fairy tales, and alternate versions of fairy tales Smiley
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Circular Knitting needles I Made :) on: February 08, 2007 11:29:53 PM
Those are very cool looking, although I'm curious about how well your stitches will slide back onto the needle after being on the wire (or whatever that is)...mine always tend to get pulled kinda tight while they're slipping along the wire and then if I didn't have a smooth transition onto the needle it could be a problem. Have you tried them out yet?

Reader's digest books have the best covers, don't they? I knew it was one as soon as I saw it Smiley Looks good!

Does anyone still have a copy of the stencil? I'll be ever grateful. Thanks!

I actually do, and I have a couple versions! If you want to send me your email address I'll mail them to you. I never clean out my folders, and I guess that's good Smiley
8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Valentine's Word Search Card on: February 05, 2007 01:28:50 AM
I wanted to make my boy a special Valentine's Day Card, and so I made him a word search Smiley None of the circles below are actually printed on the card, he has to find them, but the "I Love You" is printed in red.

So what I did is write the note with all the words he's supposed to find underlined, this is what I wrote inside:

My Darling Nathan,

I love you so much! I just wanted to take this Valentines Day as an opportunity to tell you how much I adore you, and that Im yours forever, and Im so glad that you will be mine forever too!!  Cupid got an early start on me when he made you my baby back in August! You are my friend, but also my sweetheart.  Our hearts are full of wonderful feelings for each other!  You have filled my life with smiles, kisses, and love letters. Every day I thank God that we are together.

Your Alison

I didn't explicity explain that all those words are in the word search, but I am counting on his considerable intellect to figure out that the odd wording of the letter and the random underlining mean more than just that I have really strange writing skills Wink ... the phrase "Alison Loves Nathan So Much" is also in there for him to find, and I wrote that under a little drawing that I did inside the card and underlined it as well. I couldn't figure out how to work it into the text of the note...lol!

I had so much fun making it that I also made my friend a birthday card like this. It's super fun, and very easy to do!

That's Awesome!
That gives me an idea. I have some left over 45s from a failed attempt to make a billfold. I think instead I'll make a notebook to match my Record Bag I just made.

Perfect Smiley That will be an awesome matching set!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Dolly of myself (from Jess Hutchinson's Booklet!) on: January 08, 2007 12:11:00 AM
Thanks everyone for all the sweet comments Smiley The dolly is waiting for him with all his mail for when he gets home, he's only going to be in China for 3 weeks altogether and they're not going to be in one place the whole time so actually sending it wouldn't have worked well, unfortunately Sad

She's kinda sad looking because that's actually how I draw myself a lot of the time (and yes, she misses him a lot!), i like to just do a little straight line for my mouth instead of a smile, I'm not quite sure why Smiley

He's a very sweet boyfriend, and it was really cute that he responded that he liked me Smiley I know he'll think this doll is cute and funny, it's worth making things for him because he appreciates and likes them!
