1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Button swap time? on: January 16, 2011 06:52:27 PM
I just scored an awesome bunch of vintage buttons so I'm itching for a button swap!
Has there been one recently and I missed it? I did a search and didn't see anything.

Last one I did we sent a selection of buttons and swapped a medium and small item I think?

I'm thinking sign-ups through the end of the month, February to craft, and send outs about March 1? This is just a general idea.

Interested??  Cool

2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Which die cutter works best on felt? on: November 30, 2010 06:36:42 PM
Not sure which is the best place to post this but I figured since die cutters are mostly used by paper crafters that this would be the best place to start.

I really like working with felt-acrylic and wool.
Wondering which die cutter will work best on cutting felt.
My SIL has a Big Shot that she says will work on felt but I haven't seen it done yet.
Thanks
Ann
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Newborn/baby swap interest? on: January 04, 2009 01:05:11 PM
I did a search and didn't see anything in the last few months so wanted to see if there is enough interest for a baby swap? I'm due in June so starting to get into the "mood" for baby stuff Wink

I was think of things like onesies, hats, clothes, booties, toys, stuffies, etc but whatever people want to suggest is great.

Maybe a point system might work like 5 pts? (3 pts=large, 2 pts=med, 1 pt=small)
That could be 2 mediums and a small or 1 large and a medium, etc. I'm open to whatever the majority wants!

Thoughts or interest?
4  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / International coffee tins on: July 28, 2008 06:58:32 PM
I have a bunch of these smaller rectangle tins. They are a bit small for planters. Not tall enough for pencil or utensil holders.
Ideas??

Thanks!
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Help! ? about what I can put on a metal lampshade and not have it melt! on: July 12, 2008 01:29:00 PM
I'm in a swap and my partner wanted a little light for her bunkbed. I found a neat little clip on light at a thrift store with a small metal lampshade. It has a 40watt bulb in it now but I think that's way too much and will cause major heat! I'll definitely get something smaller in size and wattage.
The lampshade is tiny-only 9 inches in diameter at base and 3.5 inches across the bottom. It's a soft metal-easily bendable-maybe tin?

My question is-I'd love to mod podge or put stickers on the lampshade but I'm worried about heat and if the items will melt off or even be a fire hazard.

Anyone have experience with this?

Any ideas?
Thanks!
Ann
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Anyone used the Ka-Jinker? on: July 03, 2007 10:22:56 PM
I think it looks perfect for adding trim around skirts or jeans or bags. I'm wondering how the fasterners hold up in the laundry.
It's not too expensive at $15 but does it work?
thanks!
