1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / More Conceptual Jewelry - Pendant and Chain on: March 23, 2006 12:39:26 PM
Another one of my metals pieces from my silversmithing concentration.  It's pretty long, about two feet I'd say, with a pendant cast out of sterling silver and the chain links of sterling silver as well and petina'd.  I loved making it, but goodness were my hands cramped after all of those links!  =)

So, I'm new here.  I have up until now been strictly what I would consider an "artist."  I went to an arts high school, come to college to major in art (until my parents disowned me), and have been interested in the arts ever since I was a little girl.  But now I'm really starting to see how wonderful and creative the crafts arts can be, and I'm slowly easing my way into them.  But as far as my favorite medium, I love silversmithing and metalsmithing, so I thought I might post my favorite piece that I've made during my entire metalsmithing concentration.  I'm excited to be here, and everyone seems so nice, so I'm hoping I won't get flamed...

Here is the piece at its completion; as a necklace combined with ear cuffs, and the pendant attached:

Now I'm breaking it down.  Here are the ear cuffs on their own:

I figured that it was something along the lines of proper etiquette to make your first few posts a little more image heavy and introduce yourself as a craftster/artist?  Anyway, hi all.   Grin
