11  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: In Progress - Little Girls Vest/Overdress on: May 22, 2007 03:32:25 PM
I had been thinking pink along and along, but after rummaging around in my "spare" yarn, I found a lone skein of lavender microspun that will be about the right weight if I need it.

Will keep you posted  Smiley

Thanks Aelita, that's a good idea!

I'll have to see how the yarn holds out as well. May have to integrate another color into it as well Roll Eyes

13  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / In Progress - Little Girls Vest/Overdress on: May 18, 2007 04:00:02 PM
Making this vest/dress for my goddaughter for summer. No pattern, I'm designing as it goes and, sure enough, it looks like I'll run out of yarn  Grin

Here's a peek at it in progress:

Just looking at the photo, it seems like it will need some kind of more substantial border on the bottom to balance the more dense bodice.

Thoughts? Comments?
14  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Quikie Post - Little Girls Hot Pink Sweater with Purple Stripes on: May 18, 2007 03:45:23 PM
Just wanted to post this because I FINALLY got something finished Grin
It seemed like I was having a serious dry spell there.

This is a sweater for my goddaughter - knit in the round. It is Lion Woolease in Fuschia. I decided to add the purple stripes to tone down the PINKNESS of it.

15  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Little Girls Princess/Flower/Pirate Sweater (that took FOREVER) on: January 26, 2007 06:54:19 AM
Thanks you guys! This sweater was no time to knit but ended up taking as long to make as an adult sweater what with all the finishing bits. The positive feedback makes it feel much better Smiley

LOVE the idea for the tiara and eyepatch  Grin

We did give her a princess tiara for Christmas, too bad I didn't think about the eyepatch part. She loves both princess and pirate things so the two together are perfect.

Only two, well, two and a half, and she is so very definite about what she likes and doesn't like. Can't wait 'till she's older  Shocked
16  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Little Girls Princess/Flower/Pirate Sweater (that took FOREVER) on: January 25, 2007 02:00:22 PM
FINALLY! I have finished this sweater! It is for my goddaughter, who is two, and I think it turned out well.

You can follow it's design twists and turns on my blog - www.shinydesigns.blogspot.com

It may not be quite as piratey as I had in mind but I think she will like it. I sure hope so - it was turning into a royal pain to finish   Shocked

Just an update - this sweater is done!!! Check out the final result on my blog -www.shinydesigns.blogspot.com.

I'll also post in completed projects (whoo hooo) as well  Grin

Good job on that scarf samuraikiss.

Knitting is good for you on many different levels. It has gotten me through many a hospital vigil or just plain funk.

Oh, good that you found out before giving him the scarf - that would be insult to injury!

Wow, yay socks is right!

You did a great job - more patience than I on size one needles  Smiley

Hope the BF likes them, if not, take them back  Grin

These are nice!

Are they double layers? I can't tell from the picture. If so, that makes them double nice  Smiley

As for being on the girly side, I can see these working well with a sharp, edgy black suit. Maybe I'll do a pair for myself ...
