1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Help! I just got my first sewing machine! on: October 23, 2006 04:06:11 PM
Hi all! My lovely boyfriend just bought me a sewing machine! I'm very excited but also hesitant because I'm not sure where to start. Last night my plan was to read through the manaul and I accidently stepped on the pedal and broke off the needle! I now know how to fix that ...Smiley

Anyway, if you all could recommend some easy first projects that would be great! Also, what do I need to pick up from Wal-Mart to get me going?

Thanks!
2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Basics on making a decent cup of tea on: August 31, 2006 07:53:57 PM
Hello all,
I started drinking tea last year and I need a little advice from tea drinkers. What kind to look for, how long to steep tea bag, sugar and milk? or just sugar? I like tea, I just think I could like it a lot more with a little help.
Thanks!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help with Wheelie? on: July 10, 2006 02:47:27 PM
I'm having problems with Knitty's Wheelie:

I've never done lace knititng before and am unfamiliar with yarn overs, so that may be part of the problem. I also do not think I'm understanding the purl through back loops.  I've started a couple times and when I drop a stitch it usually falls well below the 6 it should fall to. Not sure if anyone has tried this before, but I would love some help!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Holes in sock on: June 27, 2006 11:02:26 AM
I just finished my first ever sock! After three major restarts, it's finally done. BUT I have a hole near where I started to make the instep. Are there any tricks I need to know to fix this or just try to cover it up the best I can?
