1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: new stencil pieces: Tori Amos & Beastie Boys on: April 05, 2006 09:55:19 AM
those are both awesome...what are they stencilled onto?

Thanks!
Pretty much all of my stencils are on canvases, like these 2. Smiley I like to do them on fabric and other things sometimes, though.

Like the colours you used, Im crap at it and stick to 1 colour, not as talented as you

What paint do you use? I don't use spraypaint much, that makes it easier to use several colors. Don't get down on yourself!

I started drooling all over my keyboard when I saw the tori amos one....and then almost had a heart attack when I scrolled down to the beastie boys one. will you be my new best friend?Huh LOL Grin

awww... hahaha... Well, that would be great... just try to keep the drooling and heart attacks under control... I don't want to be responsible for that! Wink

I love your Fiona Apple one. that looks fabulous.

Thanks Smiley That's my bestseller. Even people who don't know who Fiona Apple is adore it. It gives me the warm fuzzies Smiley

Let me start off by saying that I adore doing stencils, and while I started out using spraypaint, it didn't take long before I decided to mix up the street art with fine art. I've done a series of watercolor stencils, as well as several acrylic and oil stencils as well. The pieces I have so far are fairly simple, but I'm working on some more complex stencil pieces for an upcoming group art show I'm involved in.

That said, here's some pictures:

that's prolly too many... sorry if that's so... I've been doing a TON of stencil art. If you're intrigued and you want to see more, here's my etsy shop & deviantART gallery:

thanks for looking, and as always, feedback is welcome Smiley
10  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: How's Your etsy Shop Doing? on: March 09, 2006 07:29:03 AM
I registered on Etsy back in September, but I finally got it up and running a little less than a month ago. I've had  10 sales, bought a bunch of stuff, joined my local street team, and made a lot of new e-friends.

(yes, I'm addicted!)

http://cherriebomb.etsy.com

what I got:
paintings, aceos, art prints, stickers, t-shirts, lots of mixtapes, and random stuff. I add new things to my store at least once a week.
I have a penchant for painting some of my favorite musicians. I'm just getting started, really; I've done one series of aceo's called "girls with pianos" that features Regina Spektor, Tori Amos, and Fiona Apple.

I keep telling people I adore doing custom work... Don't be shy! I love a challenge!

OK, I've rambled enough. If you check out my shop, please drop me a line to let me know what you think. And if you're a seller on Etsy, and you want to do a card/flier swap, please send me a conversation with your address, and I'll write back with my info. I love helping others promote their shops!

peace,
Michelle
