1  My (well, our) wedding cake in Weddings and Bridal Showers by girlfriday on: May 22, 2006 08:00:17 PM
My husband and I took classes at Michael's and learned how to decorate cakes and make sugar flowers. After several months of these lessons (and a couple private lessons), Dave made the cakes and most of the flowers and I designed and placed them.

Here are a bunch of pics:

This is our main cake. The bottom layer was strawberry shortcake, the middle layer was italian cream cake, and the top layer is just vanilla (for next year).

Here's another pic of the same cake:

We also made a grooms cake (marchino cherry and chocolate with chocolate covered cherries to decorate) which you can see here:

We are still getting compliments on the cakes. Smiley Mostly how delicious they were; I have to say, I married a great cook/baker.

2  Re: My country doesn't have that 2 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by girlfriday on: October 13, 2005 06:58:56 PM
As promised (and with much help from my fiance) here are the pictures of the wonderful goodies SerendipityCrafts sent me:

Here is the SYRUP, candy bar, stickers, 2 maple leaf pins, 2 canadiana pins, a moose ornament, a snowman ornament, a snowman pin, a butterfly magnet, and a cattail santa.
Here's a closeup of the pins, magnet, and santa.

She also sent two recipes (one for pancakes and one for a meat pie) and 3 cds, not pictured.

Thanks again SerendipityCrafts. I <3 it!!

3  Re: Branching Out scarf knit-along in Knitalongs by girlfriday on: July 20, 2005 07:56:08 AM
I finished the knitting! Today, I plan to finish it up (weave in ends and block it.
Here are some pics though:
pattern

Roxy models it for you!

Hopefully the pattern will clear up loads in the blocking process.
