1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / 10 postcards on: December 23, 2009 07:32:59 PM
Winter break can be boring, so I put myself to good use today making postcards for a friend's Christmas gift. She's moving away right after the holiday, so postcards will be a handy way for her to keep in contact with family members and people who aren't on Facebook. All images and lettering are from the stacks of Harper's BAZAAR I have lying around my room.
I'm a little unhappy with the finished products because I had to use regular Elmer's glue; I will use a glue stick next time, so future postcards shouldn't warp as much.

2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / A Painting and a Relief Sculpture on: March 29, 2006 01:02:16 PM

This was originally titled Snow White in Wonderland, but I changed it to Teacher's Pet.  It's about 8 inches across.  The medium is acrylic paint on board.

This is a relief sculpture I did at school called Monster Mashers; it's nine inches wide and made of kiln-fired clay.
3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Robot Book Cover on: March 29, 2006 12:46:50 PM
This is the cover I made for my Spanish book at the beginning of the school year.

It's gotten kind of beaten up since then, but it's still in pretty good shape- it's only got a few tears on the corners. I made it out of a paper bag and packing tape, and the 'parchment' scraps are pieces of butcher's paper that I microwaved in tea and singed with a match.  It was a lot of effort, but I am of the opinion that there's no reason to spend 50 cents on a perfectly serviceable item when you can make it yourself for no cost other than an hour's worth of creativity.  Roll Eyes
4  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / First post: Rainbow Sandals! on: March 28, 2006 03:00:01 PM
This is my first post here on Craftster... I'm so glad I found this place!
This is one half of a pair of sandals I painted a month or so ago. I'd had the sandals for two years and they were getting scuffed up, so I gave them a bit of colour.  HOWEVER, after wearing them for a week or so, the paint started flaking off. I know I need to seal it somehow, but I don't know what to use.  Would Mod-Podge work? (The sandals are made out of synthetic leather.)
