1  Re: Fibertrends felted clogs, help with turns in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by KristyGuna on: December 12, 2006 12:09:37 PM
Thanks Abril!  I did what you suggested and you are right!  At first I didn't see how it would work, but then a few rows later, I had a clog.  Amazing!

As it turns out, the clog I made, pre-felted, was large enough to put one of my darling weiners into:

One down, one to go - I'm sure my Grampa will love them.

2  Re: Robot Swap Round 3 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by KristyGuna on: September 15, 2006 05:43:40 AM
I received some really, really excellent stuff from Dianimal who did an outstanding job for her first swap!  I love it ALL!

Supercute messenger bag with THE perfect amount of pockets in just the right places:

Another friend on the side:

Robot Lining and KEY FOB!!!:

I took this purse to the rock show the DAY I got it and it was perfect, it holds all my stuff.  Dianimal must have some sort of psychic pocket connection with me because really, there are just the perfect amount of pockets.  I love the retro fabric and the hand drawn robots are exquisite!!

Robot picture frame (already on my desk at work):

Robot Necklace (already worn with a zillion compliments):

Robot Magnets (already on my whiteboard at work):

Everything is FABULOUS!  Thanks so much Dianimal! The swap force is strong with this one!

Since Sugarkane has received, I'll post pictures of what I sent her:

We both had pink ipod minis, so it was nice to have a model in hand.  I also had fallen in love with these plastic cases I bought off of ebay (I've had mine for about a year) and I thought I'd deck a few of those out and share the love.

Sugarkane had mentioned that she likes pinups and perhaps would like a cozy that maybe had some glam, sequins and stars.  I tried combining the two, but it didn't look so great since a mini doesn't give you much room to craft on, so I came up with this:

Pinups:

Glam / Stars:

Since I just learned to crochet, and I noticed that Sugarkane has an interest in CrotchCraft, I threw in an extra as well.

VulvaPod:

Boy did I get some funny looks on the train while crocheting that one Smiley

8  Indie Rock Booties in Knitting: Completed Projects by KristyGuna on: March 22, 2006 12:25:44 PM
Inspired by this post, I simply had to try my hand at making some Chuck Taylor booties.  As my first knitted booties ever, I wanted to make something cute and rockin'!  Also, they were a gift to some very good friends, the ladies that walk my dogs and who just had a lovely little boy named Lucas Logan - otherwise known as L.L. Cool Baby.  Following a modified 'knitty gritty' Ugg booties pattern and some of the pattern that was posted in the thread, I made some really awesome two needle bootes.

To make more of an authentic "rubber sole" I reverse stockinette-ed a few rows, then I threw a black row in there and then finished the reverse stockinette.  I returned to the ugg pattern after that to do the foot part and then to the modified ugg pattern to make the uppers of the shoes.

To finish, i sewed a red star button and a white felt circle onto the outer side of each bootie.  The laces are crocheted chains, since I'm also trying to learn how to crochet.  This is my first posted project so sorry if I mess something up.

I don't know much about baby foot sizes, so I hope they fit Smiley
