1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Mother's Day / Re: My Mothers Day Gift...So easy....So cheap....SOOOOOOO CUTE!!!! on: May 11, 2006 11:35:09 AM
This really is a very cool mother's day gift. I made potted pens for my mom last year and she still tells friends about it! Only trouble is...now I have to think of something for this year...and time's running out. Roll Eyes  Tongue
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Care Bears Gummi Candy bags Purse....+TUT. on: July 03, 2005 04:00:57 PM
That's really cute!

BTW...I'm 25 and I still love the Care Bears. I don't watch the show anymore or anything but I used to have a LionHeart bear when I was a kid. Ahhh...the memories.

P.S. Don't mind me...just been feeling a bit nostalgic lately *sniffle*
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Record purse **made from actual record - NOT the sleeve** you'll want one!!!! on: July 03, 2005 03:54:06 PM
I love love LOVE this purse!!! [/color]

Just a thought for those people out there that are thinking of using 45's - the ones with the big hole in the middle...maybe you can find those old yellow adapters, paint them a funky colour and line the outside edge with some kind of glue. Pop it in and voila! No more hole and it keeps with the whole record style.

Good luck! I'm looking forward to raiding the record bin at the local thrift store...

Very cool!

I love Secretary (esp. James Spader! *purr*) but I have to agree...you have to be careful of the company you're with. Before I moved into an apartment with my boyfriend, my dad walked in on me watching this...YIKES!!! Needless to say...I switched to another channel VERY quickly. LOL!
5  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / Re: Slap on bracelet design on: July 03, 2005 12:38:35 PM
Sounds like a cool idea!

Slightly off-topic: I bought a Hairagami from Claire's a while back...it's basically two of those bracelets (heavy-duty for lots of use) covered and connected with a velvet kind of fabric. You might be able to experiment and make a couple of these.

BTW...why were these banned in schools?
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: undies & bras on: July 03, 2005 12:12:03 PM
I contacted Amy a while back about the site not being up and that there were a lot of craftsters begging to see it. She put it back up shortly thereafter but it was getting so many hits that the site was shut down. Sad

I'm going to contact her again and see if she would mind putting the tute up on Crafster instead - that way it won't affect her site so much!

I'll let you all know if I hear back from her.
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: 45's Record Clutch --- So Cool on: July 03, 2005 10:59:23 AM
That is such a cute purse. I absolutely love vinyl...and that's one of the best applications I've seen so far!

I was actually kind of surprised though...I don't think I've seen many 45's that don't have that huge hole in the middle. I was thinking that if you wanted to use that type you could just use one of those yellow adaptors that people used to play them  - maybe just glue it in or something. If you wanted you could probably paint it some funky colour to match the purse.

I can't wait to see the tute! Very excited! Thanks

I took apart an old plastic clock and the hook part was on the frame, not the clock mechanism, so I need to stick something on to hang it.

I just bought a dollar store clock for the purpose of using it for the record clock. I figure you can attach a pop can tab with some glue to the back of the clock mechanism and use that for a hook!
9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Sex study diary (WARNING: ADULT THEMED) on: April 14, 2005 05:59:03 PM
I had something like this...used a little dollar store journal and covered it in stickers.

Okay, I'll admit...I didn't want to draw attention to the fact that the journal pages had little snipits from cosmo and written in tips from some books.

It wasn't a dedicated "sex" journal (althought that's mostly what I used it for) and I made the mistake of using it to record an important phone number in for my boyfriend. He lived 2 hours away with his grandparents at the time and I accidentally left it behind after visiting. Well...he left it out on his computer desk not realizing what it was and his grandmother found it and took a look through it!!! I'd only visited a couple of times before but she was quick to tell my bf that I was the wrong girl for him with very perverted ideas! LOL  Wink

Still with him (4 years this May)...guess he took a look through it too and decided to keep me!!!  Tongue

My advice....don't leave home WITH this!
10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: A slight variation on duct tape roses (with tutorial) on: April 14, 2005 05:50:23 PM
I tried this and couldn't get my duct tape roses to look anywhere near as good as yours! I just couldn't get the bottom to flatten out.

So, using your alteration (the fold) I tried to make something different and wound up with some really beautiful water lilies!

I don't have access to a digital camera right now but if you guys are interested I'll try to convince my friend to let me borrow hers.
