Is there anyone in the area who crafts? Gets together? Does anything unique?
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Stock Up For Christmas Swap? on: July 23, 2011 12:49:51 PM
I suggest swapping things that can be given as unique and exciting hand crafted gifts for this holiday season.

That way I'm not giving everyone the same thing in diffrent colors, but a wide assortment of awesome stuff.  Stuff I myself can't make for them.

I don't know how to host, so I hope someone more knowledgeable is as excited as I am.
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Need Opinion: Melted Plastic Bag Food Storge on: February 05, 2011 12:05:12 PM
Wrong Board? Couldn't find a general question board.

I want to melt several layers of grocery bags together to make sandwich & veg wraps.

But recently I heard about the grocery store chain Publix was encouraged to find new vendors for their grocery bags because of very large amounts of lead in their plastic bags.

If it isn't a good idea to haul my good home in them, I don't feel comfortable wrapping my sandwich in it.

Does anyone have an opionon? Is this cause for concern?
4  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / CP Soaps - Pomander & Vanilla-Orange on: January 29, 2011 10:18:58 AM

Pomander (Orange & Clove)
Tomato Face Wash Tart
Strawberry Rubarb Tart
The large one I can't remember the name of the FO, but I LOVE IT. I molded it in a Pringles can.

Bottom is scented with Strawberry-Rhubarb FO. I didn't keep great notes on this one, and I love it! I don't know what I did, so I can't do it again!!
The top is a Tomato Face Wash.

Vanilla-Orange CP Soap poured alternatly into valentines silicon cup cake forms.
5  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Babylock BL 1556 - No Manual [skipped stitches] on: January 27, 2011 10:14:35 PM
I have a hand-me-down Babylock BL 1556 without the book.

I tentativly started playing with some of the knobs and may have messed something up.
My second favorite most comfortable stitch (#3) the zig-zag stitch seems to skip a zig on every couple of zags.

I wondered if it is a bobbin issue, because I have noticed removing and re-threading sometimes fixes issues. But I can't imagine that would make a diffrence with the stitches.

I know to keep the needle positioning knob to keep the needle in the middle.
But there are two other knobs I can't quite figure out what they do.
Can anyone shed any kind of light? I'm very in the dark on sewing, in general!
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Man Boquet on: May 06, 2009 09:18:40 AM
Most men don't want flowers.  But I like a vase of flowers. So for the husbands birthday, I made him a boquet he'll like. Candy bars. And it comes in a beer mug.

7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / 'Eureka' Swap? on: September 16, 2008 07:42:58 AM
I havn't yet seen a Eureka swap. I think this show is as good as some of the other Sci-Fi shows that have merited a swap, or 8.

Things like your own personal Logic Crystal necklace.
School bags for Zoe.
Cafe Diem wall signs.

I don't think I could host though. Maybe there is someone more responsible then me.....
8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Green & Blue Camo Paper on: October 31, 2007 08:31:12 AM
Anyone know where I canfind blue and green camophlage paper?
9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Heat Tools? on: August 17, 2007 07:54:32 AM
My less then 6 month old heat tool burned out in the middle of a project!!
Is there a diffrence in brands? Would a diffrent brand be more trust worthy then the Hobby Lobby brand?
Or is it simply a tool that blows hot air out of a plastic tube and will have a habit of burning out upon prolong use?
10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / My Quilt Block on: June 30, 2006 10:07:55 AM
For the Family Quilt due out next month, I have finished my block. Just under the deadline, tonight.

I stenciled the pistol, with help from X-The-Moody-One-X who gave me the image from her tank top

 http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=91860.0

I hand painted the ribbon on. I attempted to stencil the words, but messed up a little.   But I'm happy enough with it.  Just crazy enough to be slightly offending, without being offending.

It's very me & my new husband.
