I love it! I wish I had seen this when I was pregnant with my DS, he's 8 months old now. I will have to put this in my favorites for next time!

My son and I took one of our old stained cookie sheets and covered it in candy and snack wrappers. I covered it with a few coats of mod podge but I think I need to use a different type of sealant on it. I will probably paint the sides and bottom on it later.
DS loved collecting all the wrappers, it took him a few months to save enough.

I love the octopus! I've been wanting to switch to canvas bags and have used them in the past, but my hubby does most of the shopping and probably would "forget" to take them. I need to come up with some designs that he would use.

117  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: baby shadow box- First post for me!! on: July 12, 2007 06:18:21 AM
Thank you!
I cut a swatch of a receiving blanket and handstitched it together around the back. I used straight pins to attach the hat and bracelet to the background and hot glue for the medallion and I think I used double sided tape for the pic. the socks are just sandwiched between the back and the glass, I'm glad I saved the little plastic form that they came with (and my DH makes fun of me for saving everything.... ok so I go a little overboard sometimes but as you can see you never know when you might need it!)And the card is just sitting on the bottom.
118  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / shirt to pillow on: July 10, 2007 07:27:43 PM
I was kinda confused about where to post this. My son did not want to get rid of this shirt so I sewed all of the openings and let him stuff it with stuffing from an old pillow. He had tons of fun and he loves it cause he helped make it and it's so soft!
119  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / baby shadow box- First post for me!! on: July 10, 2007 07:21:32 PM
Hi all! I've been lurking around here off and on for a long while and I just love all of the talent and creativity. I figured it was about time I put something of mine on here, it's nothing much in the creativity department but it's one of my favorite things!
This is a shadow box that I made for my son (he's 5 now) and I'm trying to gather some stuff up so I can make one for my 7 month old. The background is a piece of one of his receiving blankets, there's his newborn pic, his socks he wore in the hospital, his hospital hat, his hospital bracelet and the card they put on the bassinet. Oh, and also a guardian angel medallion someone gave him.
Thanks for letting me share and I look forward to making more stuff and sharing AND of course seeing everyone's wonderful creations!
