1  UNITED STATES / North Carolina / UNC CH Craftsters on: August 19, 2008 01:10:56 PM
Hey guys I just started at UNC-CH and I was wondering if there were any fellow craftsters out here. I figured since it's such a big school there's bound to be a couple. I was also wondering about stitch n' bitches in the area if there are any.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / decoupaged plastic drawers on: July 23, 2008 05:41:00 PM
Hi everyone.

So I'm going off to college in less than a month (UNC yay!) and I've been buying stuff for my dorm and I bought a set of small plastic drawers to hold my makeup, they're perfect for the job but they were kind of plain. So after reading a blog post on craftzine.com about decoupaging a plastic storage box I decided to try my hand at it and here are the results.

sorry I didn't take a before pic, but the frame was white and the drawers clear
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / "classy rainbow" prom dress on: May 06, 2008 05:47:54 PM
hey everyone!

my prom was last weekend and I thought I'd share my awesome dress that one of my friends' mothers made me. I refer to it as my classy rainbow dress because it's still formal enough for prom but it had rainbow insets at the bottom. I myself made the sash for the dress because i felt like it needed a little something extra. Oh and I made my flower hair clip too just by hot gluing fake flowers to a bobby pin.

i don't have any good action shots but when i walked or danced the bottom would flare out and look really pretty.

thanks for looking  Grin
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / what type of paint should you use for leather? on: March 04, 2008 01:11:18 PM
Hi everyone,
I have a leather case for my ipod, and I like it a lot, but it's black, and kinda boring. So i was thinking about painting it. I figured I could use nail polish remover to remove most of the finish, but then i was wondering if there's a specific type of paint I should use or not use to paint on the leather. I've never done anything like this, so any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Birdy tote on: February 02, 2008 03:12:56 PM
This is my last semester of high school and my class load is really light. Which is great because i have more free time. plus, since i don't need to carry around books, I don't need a book bag anymore. but i found that i needed something to carry around a water bottle and loose paper. etc. so I decided to make a simple tote.

anyhoo that's a lot of explanation, but here's the pics

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / gift for a teacher on: January 26, 2008 11:30:06 AM
hey everyone
I'm a senior, and I want to give my teacher something at the end of the year to remember me by but I'm having trouble thinking of what.

here's the basics: She's been my teacher all 4 years of high school. she was my english teacher freshman year, and has been my newspaper advisor the other three years. She's also been my academic team coach for three years, so she's really been a great support and mentor to me.

More about her: she loves cake, and 80's music (journey, REO speedwagon, etc.) She's not going to be teaching next year because she just got her degree to be a librarian.

I was hoping that all these creative minds on craftster could come up with a few ideas

oh and i forgot to mention, I have about 5 months to complete the project
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / transformer's scarf on: December 23, 2007 06:11:35 PM
I'm feeling very accomplished because i finally finished all of my christmas presents!!!! This is by far my favorite gift I've made for someone. It's a transformer's scarf for my brother. I used the chart from this hat pattern http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=197767.0But I've made him two hats already so i decided to make it a scarf.

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / pop art ducky tissue box on: August 11, 2007 05:41:13 AM
so I collect rubber duckies, and I recently got a pop art one, and it came in a super cool box. It was too cool to throw away, so i decided to keep it around and make something out of it, and here's what I came up with.

what do you think? I personally think it's the coolest tissue box ever  Grin
9  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / floppy disks???? on: July 26, 2007 01:25:17 PM
so I have two pretty full packs of floppy disks that i bought before i got my new computer which, like most new computers, does not have a floppy drive. there's about 25 in each pack and they're multicolored. do any of you genius crafsters have ideas on how i may use them? thanks!
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / red elvises t-shirt to tank on: July 23, 2007 06:54:52 PM
so I went to a Red Elvises show a couple years ago, and my dad's friend bought me a shirt, a great shirt i might add. the only problem was that it was 2 sizes too big. This was before my days of craftyness, but now I've finally gotten around to doing something with the shirt so I could wear it as more than just PJ's

(yes there are a few paint stains on it, but that won't stop me from wearing it around)
