1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Hmmm... on: April 23, 2006 12:47:56 AM
Would anyone know how to thin out fabric?

I found this awesome fabric but I want it sheer.

Am I S.O.L?

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Bathroom glass on: April 17, 2006 02:00:31 PM
Okay...My questions are:

I have a really cheap set of bathroom stuff (toothpaste holder, soap holder...etc) and I want to paint it. What would be a good paint that I could use that can take the abuses of shower steam, water, Lysol without getting cracked or pasty?

Is there a washable paint I could use for mirrors as well?

Is it possible to paint in a no-slip mat in the bath tub? It would obviously have to be waterproof and not slippery.

My bathroom is slowly turning into a Vegas-themed room and I was thinking about taking the black toothpaste holder and painting black circles on it like dice.

And would anyone know where to find the following items or ideas on how to make them:

Dice or Vegasy rug
Vegas wall frames (his mom is taking pics of some Vegas casinos for us when she goes)

Or any ideas on what ideas you might have would muchly be appreciated.

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Drab Studio Apartment on: March 04, 2006 08:15:25 AM
So I live in a studio apartment where technically, the "bedroom" is in the living room. I've decided that the bathroom is going to be Vegas-styled (my boyfriend is from Vegas) and we have a lot of ideas so I don't need anything for that.

The living room/bedroom has a brown carpet and almost everything in the room is brown or white or black. So far I want to make some white curtains that are see through and a rock fountain on the table. That's all I have. Any ideas on my living room? I'm going with earthy tones like eggshell, brown and black.

Now..The kitchen is the problem.  I have no ideas for that and it's tiny. The cabinets are brown, tiles are brown marble look-a-like and the counter is an off white. I can't paint the walls or anything so...painting is out of the question. Any cheap ideas would be greatly appreciated.
