1  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Re: Animal rescue for birds on: January 20, 2010 07:54:59 AM
I love it!  I am going to have to check out your shop.

I am the Secretary for Wilmington NC Bird Club & Rescue & we are always looking for ideas on raising funds to help companion birds / parrots.  At the moment we aren't a non-profit since its so expensive to file for & we keep spending the money on food & medical care for the parrots we take in!  Its a process we hope to complete by the end of the year.

So I know how expensive it can be & the need there is for rescuing parrots & wanted to say THANK YOU so much for bringing awareness & being actively involved in this cause!
2  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Re: Don't need you to do anything, just need ideas. for Dog Shelter on: January 20, 2010 07:34:30 AM
I recently adopted a pug that was a rescue.  The mid-Atlantic pug rescue does a website where you can be an angel for a pug needing adoption or medical care by donating through pay pal.  Then your name is listed as their angel.

Maybe you could do something similar.  Cut out hearts & put each dogs's name or picture on them & people can pay to send them a valentine?

Good luck.  I absolutely love animal rescues & have to say thanks for all you are doing.
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Project Linus Blanket-Along 12 in 2010! on: January 20, 2010 07:11:19 AM
I am so glad to see this group on here!  I just joined Project Linus & attended my first meeting last night where I made a fleece blanket.  I just did the one layered tied fringe style.   It was a lot of fun & very rewarding.  Wish I had gotten a picture of the finished project but I did snap a picture of the fleece!
